Five Minute Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2014
Super-easy & comes out great. My only recommendation is to taste it before adding all of the sugar; you may not need as much, or might need more, etc. I've made it with 1/2 Splenda & with 1% milk and it comes out great.

Delicious - the only change I made was to add some milk to improve the consistency. Will definitely make again.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2009
Very, very good, and easy too. I much prefer this recipe over others on this site. I added 1 tsp. vanilla to the sour cream/egg mixture.

Grandma Johnson's Scones

Reviewed: Jul. 16, 2009
I was expecting great scones after reading the glowing reviews. First time I made them, the dough was crumbly and dry, and the scones weren't very good. Thinking I may have done something wrong, I tried them again, this time adding orange extract and craisins, as others suggested. Again, they came out crumbly and dry, and the dough was really hard to work with. Sorry, but I won't be making these again.

This was really good - I don't understand the bad reviews. I used the suggestions to add some vanilla, cinnamon, and turbinado sugar. Yum!

One Dish Chicken Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
Delicious, and EASY. Per others' suggestions, I mixed the prepared stuffing with the soup and milk, then put it on top of the chicken before baking.

Summer Corn Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
I thought this was excellent, made just the way the recipe states. Will make again; may try other vinegars, per others' suggestions. Nice way to use up leftover, cooked corn on the cob.

Chicken Kathleen

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2007
This was very good; I changed it quite a bit, though. I used leftover chicken & rice (to cut down on prep time), and completely cut out the butter & bread crumbs, in order to cut down on the salt & calories. It was still delicious.

Summer Berry Cheese Pie

Very good - even better the next day. Don't skip the lemon zest; it adds lots of flavor. Recipe is a tiny bit complicated - read carefully.

Pineapple Upside-Down Cake VII

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2007
This was excellent - next time though, I will use less sugar and less butter; it was a little too rich & sweet for me. I did substitute apple sauce for some of the oil in the cake mix. Smells great while cooking; was a big hit in my house.

Torsk

Reviewed: Apr. 21, 2007
This was excellent - the sugar water makes the fish sweet, and dipped in the butter, it really does taste like lobster. Definitely a keeper! And easy, too.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2007
This was excellent - great flavor. I didn't measure much, just went by feel & looks, and it came out great. I used some half & half instead of milk, because I had lots of it. I also used leftover rotisserie chicken from the day before.

BLT Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2007
This was very good - better after sitting overnight. I found the original recipe to be a little bland, like other reviewers did (although my husband licked the bowl!) so later, I added some dry ranch mix & it improved the flavor tremendously. In original recipe, there's not much flavor besides the bacon. Although, I brought it to a party and it wasn't a big hit at all. Sorry.

These were just OK - didn't like the bottom layer. A lot of work, and didn't come out that great.
