Green Bean and Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2006
This recipe was great! I was looking for a potato salad w/ no mayo and this was right on target. Great flavor!

This was SOOOOOO easy and tasted great. Apple pie without the work and not as messy to eat. Will make again and again.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
My husband can't stop raving about this corned beef. He says it is the best he has ever had. This is quite a compliment from a man who is 100% irish and the son of a butcher. I made it in the crock pot. After rubbing the sugar on the beef, I sat it in the pot and poured the beer over it. I did not use a rach. I then cooked on low for about 10 hours. The recipe says 16 servings but my roast was bigger than 4 lbs, we had less than 16 guests, not eat meat and there was nothing left!

Strawberry Jam

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2004
I'd never made jam before and didn't know what to expect. It came out perfect. The tip for testing doneness was very helpful. I may have stopped too early if I hadn't done this test. Very easy and yummy!

Apple Glazed Pork Chops

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2002
This was a very easy recipe and helped save some not so wonderful pork chops. Next time I may add some water or juice to thin the sauce a little.

Army SOS Creamed Ground Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2002
This is what it is "Sh*t On a Shingle". But if you are like my husband and love SOS than this a a great, easy recipe. It is what I make when I want something quick and don't have much of anything in the house.

Irish Brown Soda Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
Perfet. Just like how they serve in Ireland. As someone else mentioned, you never find raisins and such in brown bread there. No one can believe how easy the recipe is.

Colcannon

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
I'm not sure how to rate this recipe since I had never heard of it and don't know how it should taste. It was a hit and non-cabbage fans said that the cabbage did not overwhelm. I can't say that I had a "green fluff" as described. Maybe my cabbage was not shredded enough. I also thought it seemed a little runny but I am comparing it to mashed potatoes and don't really know what the consistency should be. Either way, I would make it again for an Irish meal.

Saint Paddy's Dill Dip

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2004
As someone else mentioned, this dip came out very salty, even without adding the seasoning salt. Next time I may cut the onion salt in half and add some additional minced onion instead. But it is a tasty dip and a change from your standard fare. I would make it again.
