Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
We loved this recipe. We used diced tomatoes instead of the tomato juice and then added the tomato juice slowly to thin it out to the consistency that we like it. It was easy enough that my 7 year old son made it with very little supervision from his mother! Thank you!

West Indian Curried Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2012
Very authentic! My Jamaican husband loves it, and so do my fussy children. We include some roti or Naan to sop up the gravy that I make from the sauce by adding a flour/water mix. Yum!

Pizza Crust for the Bread Machine II

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2012
This was a great crust recipe! It didn't rise as much as I would like (more like thin crust) but that could have been a case of user error and not the recipe itself. We will deffinitely be using this on pizza night again!

Slow-Cooker Barbecue Ribs

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2012
Excellent! The only change was that I substituted BBQ sauce for the chili sauce because we didn't have any in the house and it still tasted fantastic. My husband and children devoured them. The taste even better the next day as leftovers.

Herbed Beef Rib Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
Hands-down the best roast beef I've ever made. The flavour was fantastic and the gravyI made from the drippings was delicious. My husband and my children couldn't get enough. After a little confusion, I used "dry" mustard as opposed to "ground" mustard. It is my understanding that they are the same thing, but if not, the flavour was still amazing.

Fantastic! My husband and I couldn't get enough! I am usually not a fan of BBQ sauce or pulled pork, but this recipe was WONDERFUL! It is deffinitely a family favourite now.

Keon's Slow Cooker Curry Chicken

Reviewed: May 17, 2011
This was an amazing recipe! We are huge fans of anything curry. My husband is Jamaican and he devoured this dish. You can adjust the cayenne to your taste, but aside from that, I wouldn't change a thing.

Slow Cooker Chicken and Dumplings

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2011
This was a fantastic recipe! After reading the reviews I decided to use chicken stock instead of water and the result was a delicious comfort food meal. I did add salt and pepper and I believe the salt was a mistake as it came out a bit too salty for my taste. In hindsight, the additional salt was not necessary given the use of the soup. I also followed the suggestion to only use one package of dough and it was more than enough, to the point where I had some spillage because it was too much. My crockpot is just not big enough. This meal is the perfect comfort food for my hubby and my picky children!

Canadian Maple Rice Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
This recipe worked great and I didn't change a thing! My kids and my husband loved it and we aren't big fans of rice pudding to begin with. I did have to add a little more water during the initial cooking time, because it wasn't cooking all the way through. It didn't appear to change the end product. Next time I will be using brown rice instead as a healthier option.

Dora's Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2010
This was a hassle free recipe that created a dough that was super-easy to work with. I especially liked that I didn't have to refrigerate the dough in order to work with it. I used my stand-mixer so it was easy to add the flour and milk alternately. Even my two year old had a great time making cookies that actually looked like they were supposed to! They tasted like traditional sugar cookies and were fantastic once iced.
