Cherry Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
Very good, the flavors go well together. The almonds are wonderful in this dish. I used boneless skinless chicken breast and just used a little more oil. I served it with rice on the side and will make this again.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 10, 2014
Fantastic! After reading reviews, I omitted the salt, as the bouillon had enough and I wanted to make sure the soup wasn't too thin, so before adding the bouillon, I used a potato masher to mash up the softened potatoes. I also used 2% milk. I also added some canned white cannellini beans. The only thing I would change is to add more ham. I would make this again, likely doubling the recipe, it was that good!

Banana Chocolate Chip Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2013
Wonderful! I followed suggestions and used 1c sugar and 1/2 c milk chocolate chips and 1/2 butterscotch chips. I also used a non-bleached flour. It was fantastic! Very flavorful, light and moist. A great way to use up brown bananas!

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
This is the second time I have made this, and I followed the recipe as written both times. This is always a hit, both the salsa and the chips. I also sprayed both sides of the tortillas and then sprinkled one side with cinnamon sugar and stacked them up and then cut them into wedges with a pizza cutter, in stacks of about 3 at a time. I baked them on a pizza stone and they came out nice and crispy without browning too much. I made them the night before and kept in a zip lock bag and they were still fresh and crispy the next evening. I was glad I did because I needed the time the next day to chop all the fruit small. It was well worth it, a great recipe. I used the left over fruit the next morning with blueberry pancakes, delicious. You could make this a day ahead.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2013
I (tried to)follow this recipe exactly and it was awesome! Actually, I forgot the honey and it was still fantastic. I also used regular vanilla, because I could not find Mexican vanilla. I brought it to a Mexican themed potluck and it went fast, everyone loved it and wanted more. We topped it with whipped cream, ice cream would have gone well, too. I will make it again and try it with the honey.

Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich with Garlic Mayo

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2013
Terrific! I liked the garlic mayo and it was so easy, I used light mayo and pre-minced garlic from a jar. I used rib eye steak and seasoned the nite before (not on purpose, but could not cook them that night, so saved them for the next day). I used red peppers and onions. I also added butter and garlic salt to the bread and broiled until toasty, spread the garlic mayo on both sided, put on the meat and veggies, topped with a cheddar and mozz mix and broiled until melted. Yum!

This recipe is fantastic. My only modification was to use white whole wheat flour.

Buffalo Shrimp

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2013
This was awesome. I used the flour mixture as written and left the shrimp right in the bag to refrigerate, it was simpler and less mess. For the second coating, I used an egg wash and creole seasoned panko bread crumbs and fried in canola oil. FANTASTIC crunch and flavor, these were good all by themselves. I made the sauce as written using Frank's red hot and then dipped them in Marie's blue cheese dressing. Loved it!

Roquefort Pear Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
Terrific recipe, it was a big hit for Christmas dinner. The flavors went so well together. I made extra pecans and used them on a french toast bake. I only made 2 changes: I used Feta cheese instead of blue, but I think the blue would have been great, too. After reading other reviews, I used a milder mustard, Gulden's Spicy Brown, and only 1 tsp. I originally wanted to use a Dijon, but it would have been too strong of a flavor. The dressing was perfect! Thanks for the recipe!

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Nov. 24, 2011
Made this for a Thanksgiving appetizer, and it was a big hit! I forgot the salt and pepper and it was still awesome. I followed another reader's advice and made it the night before. We used a baguette and melted some grated zesty mozzarella on the slices. Thanks for the great recipe.

Pepper-Honey Cedar Plank Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
Excellent! The sauce was so fantastic! I might try to marinate the salmon in some of the sauce before grilling to get even more of that flavor. I will make this again.
