Oranged Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
I just made this tonight in preparation for the big turkey day. Love it Love it! I have never made homemade cranberry sauce before. I had to step up to the learning curve quick with this recipe. I thought you had to cover it while bring it to a bringing it to a boil. Don't cover it- it ran on to my range top! Okay besides the mess I made, I did add a bit more brown sugar like the recipe and reviewers called for. It took 2 hours to thicken up. The whole downstairs smelled wonderful. It even brought the family downstairs because of the excellent aroma. Thanks for posting! Super recipe!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
This was my first cheese cake ever. I love it! I made a few changes. I used 2tbsp. extra sugar to the bottom layer. I added a little food coloring to the pumpkin layer to make it a bit more orange. I added more spices to the pumpkin layer. I used 2tsp. pumpkin pie spice in addition to what the recipe called for in the pumpkin layer. Baked it in 1/4 inch of water in a pan as to prevent cracking. I also baked it for 47mins till the center sprung back. Beautiful!

Ham Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 18, 2011
I liked this recipe for a number of reasons: homemade is always better that deli made, you control the amount of fat/junk in the ham going in, and it tastes really good! Great idea for leftover ham! I doubled this recipe and used Dijon mustard. Dijon is more mild and next time I will use yellow mustard for more zip! Thanks for posting!

Baked Garlic Green Beans

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2011
Loved the idea of this, so I made it my own. Used same amounts of olive oil, vinegar, salt pepper. I added fresh greens beans(1lb), finely diced onion, and finely diced green pepper. Tossed to coat in oil mixture. Then I used 1 cup herb flavored stuffing and mixed in 1 cup shaved Parmesan cheese. Then added 2 tablespoons of butter over the top and covered with foil in a baking dish at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Love it! Thanks for posting!

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
Thanks for posting, this is a great recipe! I put half the amount of blueberries called for. I also left it in for 7 more minutes in oven. (I may have a slow oven) Looked pretty and tasted great! It's a keeper recipe!

Pineapple Zucchini Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2011
Okay I am not a muffin maker..but these were really good. First they helped me use up my zucchini and second they were really moist! I read the reviews really carefully and most said to use less oil, so I used only one cup. I used applesauce for the second cup as required in the recipe. I did have to bake them for about 8 more minutes to get them really brown and pretty! (I think I have a slow oven) I also made sure I poured out excess water from the shredded zucchini. I only had pineapple tidbits on hand, they worked fine! Would make this recipe again, thanks for posting!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2011
I would give this 10 stars if I could. This recipe made a dense, rich, and sweet zucchini bread. I followed the ingredient list exactly. I did however bake this longer to get a nice firm crispy dark golden crust. I increased the baking time by 15-20mins. I also baked it at 335 degrees. My oven I think is a little cooler than newer models. Thanks so much for posting V Monte! Big love from Wisconsin!

Boston Iced Tea

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2012
Loved this recipe! Made it for Easter tomorrow and just got done taste testing it. I cheated a little and here are my tricks: used 4 Lipton cold brew family sized tea bags, let them steep 15 mins. Used cranberry/raspberry frozen juice concentrate and one cup white sugar. Love it will, make over and over!!

Loved it! Thanks for posting Ellie! Will make again! I followed the other reviewers by adding the 1 extra cup of oats and 1 tsp of pure vanilla. I omitted the chips, replaced with rasins. I then doubled the batch. Great!

Seafood Sandwich

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2013
Love it! I used 2 packages of imitation crab (flake style), 1 1/2 cups of finely diced green peppers, red onion, and celery. Also I threw in sliced black olives. Of course I needed more "sauce" than called for, so I used 2 cups of Miracle Whip, 4 teaspoons of old bay and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. I eneded up with 8-9 cups of crab salad that feeds 4-6 adults. Really yummy and crunchy. Would be great for a potluck dinner. Thanks!

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2014
Hearty, flavorful, and easy. I added baby carrots into the mix. **My secret tip is: line your pan with foil that has been crumpled up and then flattened back out when baking. Why? your veggies will get more crisp and stick less to the foil.** Donna, I am so glad you posted this recipe!

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 29, 2014
Excellent cookie recipe!! A super good balance of sweet and salty! I did not add as many chips as directed and added walnuts. I like to taste the cookie part just as much as chips.** I also had to bake them a few minutes longer, my oven is a bit on the old side.** You may want to do a test cookie for baking time purposes. THANKS for posting!
