About this Cook
I look forward to cooking new recipes and having them actually turn out. I have been known to wing it a little while cooking and there's a few family inside jokes about that! Why is there lunchmeat in my corned beef hash?
My favorite things to cook
Thanksgiving day recipes!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am learning more about my Swedish heritage. I have only popped the top on pickled herring each christmas season thus far. My goal is to host a totally Swedish Christmas very soon!
My cooking triumphs
2 excellent Thanksgiving dinners hosted without any fights and fires in the kitchen!:)
My cooking tragedies
Angel food cake - not as easy as it looks. There's a tear somewhere in a flat Angel Food cake. :(

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes
Hearty, flavorful, and easy. I added baby carrots into the mix. **My secret tip is: line your pan with foil that has been crumpled up and then flattened back out when baking. Why? your veggies will get more crisp and stick less to the foil.** Donna, I am so glad you posted this recipe!

Baked Honey Mustard Chicken
Love it! I use Honey Dijon mustard or spicey brown. This gives it amazing flavor. Try this recipe! So super easy!

Seafood Sandwich
Love it! I used 2 packages of imitation crab (flake style), 1 1/2 cups of finely diced green peppers, red onion, and celery. Also I threw in sliced black olives. Of course I needed more "sauce" than called for, so I used 2 cups of Miracle Whip, 4 teaspoons of old bay and 2 teaspoons of lemon juice. I eneded up with 8-9 cups of crab salad that feeds 4-6 adults. Really yummy and crunchy. Would be great for a potluck dinner. Thanks!
