Chewy Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: May 13, 2012
Great recipe! I did follow other reviewers and added 1/2 cup flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and less salt by 1/2 tsp. I also mixed by hand as I mixed most of my cookies by hand. I find using a hand mixer or food processor makes the batter too funny, and cookie batter should be more firm. This recipe totally worked and I don't think the 1/2 tsp additional of baking soda is necessary as long as you mix it by hand. You won't need to refrigerate either! Cookies came out nicely, not flat at all.

Smoked Salmon Chowder

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
Great recipe! Didn't use bacon cause we're trying not to eat as much meat, and also didn't use the corn cause I didn't have any. Makes a huge portion following this recipe and I needed 2 large pots because I didn't have one large enough to fit it all! I'll most likely half it next next. But I froze what we didn't eat and it was great once re-heated again. Very yummy and full of flavour! Thanks!!!!

Melt - In - Your - Mouth Shortbread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2011
The reviews don't lie! This recipe is fantastic! Wish I'd doubled it to make more. I followed most of the recommendations and beat the butter for 15 mins, and added a teaspoon of vanilla. Baked for 10-12 mins also. 15 mins would have made then way too brown for my oven, but all ovens vary so just keep an eye on them. Definitely will become my go to shortbread recipe for the holidays! Thanks so much!!!!

Beet Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
I really liked this recipe. I made cupcakes cause I don't have a bundt pan, and I also added chocolates chips and baked for 25 mins. I saw the colour of the batter, and tasted it and panicked! What can I say? I was worried it wouldn't be chocolatey enough, so I added the chips, but they turned out great. The cake itself is very moist, and light. Can't complain really. I will probably add cocoa powder next time though as other have suggested. Don't let the batter colour fool you though, they come out a nice dark chocolate colour.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2011
So yummy! Very understated taste with subtle flavours. I added 1 cup of dark chocolate chips and made them into muffins as I found this easier than cutting into a load all the time. Although this does make them more accessible! I baked them for 27 mins at 175 degrees. Great recipe!!!

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jul. 10, 2011
Really, really yummy. Did change a thing except I couldn't find the good elbow macaroni, just the stuff that looks like KD macaroni, so I used penne instead. Also used mature/strong cheddar instead of regular. It was definitely delicious! Well done!

Cream Cheese Frosting II

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
Definitely runny! Takes great though, and I'm putting it in the fridge before I frost my cupcakes in the hopes that it'll thicken. Agree with the last reviewer that it should be called icing and not frosting. It's very yummy though!
