Vegetarian Baked Pasta

Good dish! I think i will add zucchini to the mushroom mix next time and maybe a little garlic salt. I used 1/2 the amount of gorgonzola cheese and it was great not too overpowering.

This was good but the amounts are all off. I used 8 lasagna noodles instead of 2 boxes. Next time i will chop the broccoli and carrots more.

Shrimp Appetizer

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2011
This tasted good but was just weird. People liked it once they tried it but the cream cheese and shrimp mixture turned people off. Maybe you shouldn't tell people whats in it so they aren't turned off by it.

We didn't really like this one. May try again but will saute onions and add meat crumbles along with rice and add spaghetti sauce.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This very good, but i will try again with a few changes. Couldn't find turkey sausage so i just used reg pork sausage. I saw the other reviews liked the sage sausage but was afraid to try it here because i don't like. Will definitely use fresh herbs next time as well. I didn't use turkey liver and it was fine without it. I think i will also try a juicy apple next time too braeburn or gala.

Kate's Light n' Fluffy Buttermilk and Chocolate Chip Waffles

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2011
these were excellent. Made a few changes because i didn't have all the ingredients. I doubled the recipe, didn't have buttermilk, powder or wet, so used 1 c. plain yogurt and 1 cup milk with vinegar. Also used 1 c whole wheat flour because i ran out of white. Everyone LOVED these.

Pesto Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2011
My family didn't care for this one. I didn't use all the basil pesto as it seemed like an awful lot but we didn't care for the taste.

Salmon with Dill

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2011
Very good. I used onion salt as i didn't have onion powder and then omitted the salt but really it did need it. May try to marinate in lemon juice just to see how that tastes. The seasoning was very good. I used lemon pepper as another person suggested and it was great.

Perfect Turkey

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2011
This is the best turkey yet. I didn't have the dry white wine so i used chicken broth which worked just fine. Will try the wine next time though. I didn't read the entire recipe when I started the brine and my turkey was only about 10 lbs so ivwas worried it would be too salty, but it was great. The water was completely saturated with a lot of salt left in the bottom of the pan so it worked anyway.

Blue Ribbon Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
These were very good. Took another reviews suggestions and added 2 tsp vanilla and 1/2 tsp lemon. Tasted great, any more lemon would be too much i think. These were VERY greasy though. I accidentally melted the butter instead of creamed it so maybe that was why???Either way I will definitely try again it tasted good even though i added more flour to combat the greasiness.

Easy Fried Eggplant

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
My husband and I both liked this....the kids not so much. I used Italian bread crumbs and mixed with parmesan cheese. When I ran out of the bread crumbs I subbed smashed up Ritz crackers w/parmesan cheese which was also very good. Placed eggplant on fettucini with some homemade spaghetti sauce over top. Very good.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2011
This was our first time using this kind of glaze and it came out great. I used Vanilla extract instead of almond only because we used vanilla in the cookies. This frosting is very sweet but it works well with the blue ribbon sugar cookies on this site. Will definitely make again but will try the almond extract.
