Honey Mustard Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2005
My hubby loves honey mustard, so I tried this for his sake...boy were we glad I did! Everyone in the family gobbled it up. I added a little garlic for our taste (which I almost always do) and cooked on a stovetop grill pan. No problems with burning...wonderful flavor!

Breaded Chicken Fingers

Reviewed: May 8, 2006
I printed this recipe and my 17 yr. old neice made them as her part of a "finger-foods dinner." We didn't have time to marinate in the buttermilk, so we just dipped them in it before breading. They still turned out awesome. I can't wait to make these again when we have time to allow for marinating!!

Broiled Lemon and Garlic Tiger Prawns

Reviewed: May 8, 2006
We loved this recipe. Made a smart move and didn't change a thing. The butterflying takes a little time, but it's well worth it in the end. Awesome!!!

LOVED these. My family loves bacon and this was a hit. I used spicy mustard but kept everything the same. I will absolutely be making these many times!!!

Garlic Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 23, 2006
LOVED this recipe. I am an admitted non-fryer. I always end up doing something wrong. However, this dish sounded so simple that I had to give it a try. I'm glad I did. My family loved it and begged me to make it again and again. I used chicken cutlets to save time and changed the garlic to 2 Tbsp. I also used buttermilk instead of regular milk. Thanks for the great recipe!!!

Kielbasa and Cabbage

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
I only made a few small changes, but my family loved it. I only used 1/8 tsp. of crushed red pepper because I'm not big on spicy food. I also left out the caraway seed (don't like it) and chopped the cabbage instead of wedging it. Will saute the kielbasa a little next time before I add it to the cabbage mix. Overall, a great recipe.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2006
Loved this! I did leave out the artichoke because I didn't have any. I also added some chopped cooked bacon. Will add more of that next time...YUMMY!!! Also, next time I will probably make my own alfredo sauce instead of using the jarred kind. Awesome base recipe.

Lemonade Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2006
I knew I was taking a chance when I tried this recipe, but I had to. Boy, am I glad I did. My husband went nuts over it. The only change I made was to use pork steaks instead of chops because that's what I had. For the sake of my marriage, I will be making these again and again.

This was really good. I used it to top Lemon Meringue Pie III from this site and hubby was a happy guy.

Mijo's Slow Cooker Shredded Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2006
My hubby is Mexican-American and I was looking to make something comforting for him for Father's Day. I found this recipe and decided to give it a try. I cut back on the pepper sauce, used Pepsi instead of beer, and added a can of diced green chiles instead of jalapenos. Served it with warm flour tortillas, fried potatoes, refried beans, and other burrito fixings. He ate 2 LARGE burritos and took 2 more for his lunch today. I will definitely be making this for him again.

Lemon Dijon Wings

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
Wow! I used half dijon mustard, half spicy mustard, and only 1 tsp. of black pepper. Let them marinate overnight and then grilled them. They were excellent and completely devoured! *Update* After making this several times on chicken, hubby requested it on pork. It was awesome!

Modenese Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2006
I changed one thing in this recipe...used apple juice instead of wine because my family doesn't like the flavor of cooked wine. That one small change, but this recipe was perfect!!! Moist, juicy, delicious pork chops.

Crab Rangoon III

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2006
These were great. I left out the water chestnuts...they just didn't seem right in there. Other than that, left everything the same (and let hubby fry to avoid more disaster on my part...I always burn myself frying). Turned out just as we expected.

B Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2009
These are DELICIOUS! I was able to find both oat bran and wheat bran at my grocery (quite an amazing feat) and forgot to get buttermilk, so I just used regular skim milk. These were enjoyed by all...even my 8 and 3 year olds! Will absolutely make again!

Cream Corn Like No Other

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
I must say, I didn't like creamed corn before trying this recipe. I had only had it from a can and couldn't get my palate to warm up to mushy corn goo. However, my family loves creamed corn...even the canned kind. Or at least they USED to like the canned kind. Now, I've been told to never buy it again, but instead to make this great recipe. The only change I made was to halve the sugar. Great recipe!

Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
My family LOVED this. Hubby took the leftovers in his lunch and had to share with the guys at work! I didn't make in the slow cooker because I decided late to make this. So here's what I did. I seasoned my chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder and roasted in the oven until cooked through. Then diced and added to the other ingredients that I had already started simmering on the stove. I did use chicken broth in place of the beer. Next time, hubby (who is Mexican-American) asked that I use hominy in place of the corn, and pinto beans in place of the chili beans. We loved this recipe!

Peanut Butter Bars I

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2006
My chocoholic family loved these! I used milk chocolate in place of semi-sweet but didn't change anything else. I thought the graham cracker crumbs added texture and my family thought I used chunky peanut butter! I definitely like the added texture. These are very rich...almost like a chocolate-peanut butter fudge. And yes, they do taste like peanut butter cups. I'm sure I will be asked to make these often!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2007
Loved this recipe. Hubby was very happy and looking forward to lunch today (he takes leftovers!). Served this with my homemade macaroni salad and Baked Potato Wedges from this site. Will definitely make again. P.S. Yes, the sauce is a little thin, but I think it's supposed to be that way. We liked it that way, anyhow.

Tasty Buns

Reviewed: Jun. 7, 2007
Awesome! I made these as dinner rolls last night. I have never been able to make bread, but my mom and hubby kept pushing me to keep trying. I'm so glad I found this recipe! They were so proud and so was I! I only made a few small changes...used bread flour, used half of the sugar, and used 1 1/2 tsp. salt. I made 24 rolls and put them into two 9x13 pans. Then, let them rise until doubled and baked them. When they were hot out of the oven, I brushed the tops with butter. I am so happy and excited to have this recipe. It's easy, quick, and it works!!!

Puerto Rican Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2007
This is the best as far as fast, simple, flavorful, no-fuss marinades go. My family loves this for everything. We've used it on grilled chicken, grilled pork chops and tenderloin, ribeyes, flat iron steak, flank steak, etc. It is simple ingredients that I always have on hand and it packs a LOT of flavor!
