Oklahoma Cheese Grits

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2003
Made this recipe this morning for a brunch at work. It was easy to put together and it was baking while I got ready for work. Everyone who had some loved them. The stoneware part of my crock pot comes out, so to make sure they would be hot for the brunch, I cooked them in the stoneware part of my crockpot in the oven, then put the stoneware in the warming part, took the whole thing to work, plugged it in and put on keep warm setting. This is a VERY RICH recipe. Don't even want to add up the fat grams, but was very good. I'll definitely make this again. Next time, I'll use light Velveta and a low fat margarine. Thank you Mollie.

Honey Pork with Peppers

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2002
This was really easy and great tasting. My husband thought I had used sirloin steak to make this, so he was really fooled. He said it was one of the best recipes he'd ever had! I've added it to my family recipe book.

Banana Nut Bread Baked in a Jar

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2001
Fabulous! Thank you so much for this wonderful idea. There are 7 jars on my counter right now awaiting some ribbon and gift tags. The 8th one got opened as soon as my daughter and husband came through the door. I always cook banana bread for Christmas gifts and this is a perfect presentation. This goes in my keepsake recipe book!

Cheesy Chicken and Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2001
This was very good. I added green peppers and garlic powder for seasoning. I also mixed 1/2 the cheese in the mixture and topped with remaining. Thanks!

Chicken Riggies I

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
This is one of those great, "What do I have in my cabinet" meals. This was really good and easy. Like another reviewer, I did add powdered garlic for cooking the chicken and in the sauce. I used canned mushrooms and omitted the black olives (didn't have any) and the jalapenos (didn't want any. The next time I make, I will add the black olives and serve jalapenos on the side.

Basil Chicken over Angel Hair

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2001
This was great. I was able to use fresh tomatoes and basil from my garden. I also added fresh parsley. My "cover it with hot sauce" husband liked the flavor so much, the hot sauce stayed in the refrigerator! Made wonderful leftovers for lunch at work. Thanks!

Hawaiian Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2001
This was easy to make and a hit with my entire family - even my extremely picky daughter. Trying to use ingredients I had on hand, I substituted red wine vinegar for the sherry and used regular vegetable oil instead of sesame. I also cut up a green bell pepper and alternated pieces of it with the pineapple and chicken that I had cut into bite sized pieces before marinating. During grilling, we brushed the kabobs with soy sauce. NOTE: If using wooden skewers, be sure to soak them at least 20 minutes before assembling the kabobs.

Taco Bake I

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2000
This was very good. Even my husband, "Mr. Put Tabasco Sauce On Everything" thought the basic recipe was a "good start". Next time I make it, he's requested hot salsa and some jalapeno peppers on top. I don't particularly care for spicy food and it was just right for me. It was still good the next day when I warmed the leftovers for a quick lunch.
