Cindy's Snappy Sensational Superfood Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2014
Tried this yesterday and it was a big hit (well, with ME and Jackie, anyway!) And if our friends don't like it...well, tough! All the more for us.) Thanks, Cindy! I stuck with the recipe except I didn't have the fresh Basil. No biggy...just doubled up on the dried. BONUS, I DID have fresh ginger, so doubled up on that too, using my cheese grater. Yummmmmmyyyyyy! Also, you can make this recipe in HALF the time by nuking the turnip, carrots and potatoes till tender first, then chucking them into a big soup pot with the lentils, herbs and spices. Bring everything to a boil then simmer for two or three hours. Leave chunky...or put it through the processor for a creamy bowl of heaven!

Southwestern Chicken Barley Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2008
Kell, thanks for a fantastic recipe. I didn't the black beans, OR corn OR green chillies on hand, but was so anxious to try your great recipe I used kidney beans, chopped yellow and green peppers and some fresh ground black pepper. (Oh yeah, I only had a can of diced tomatoes as well!!!) Let's face it, Kell......your recipe is bullet proof! I liked that one person's idea of sprinkling some cheddar on top....some parsley sprigs and/or crushed tortilla chips might be fun, too. Thanks again for the magnificent dinner tonight. (I was a hero in my wife's eyes.)

Flatlander Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2008
Hey, George, great recipe! Thanks. I only messed with it out of necessity and it still turned out great. (Didn't add the tomato juice cause I didn't have any...and threw in a can of black beans just because they were there!) Used a yellow pepper since I didn't have green; also chopped in a carrot, which turned out to be a mistake! Next time (which will be soon, based on wifey's applause) I'll try throwing in a dozen mushrooms and see what happens. Thanks again, George. Fun recipe.
