Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2008
Delicious, easy, loved it. Served with rolls and the "BBQ Pork for Sandwiches" recipe from this site and had a great make-ahead meal for company trickling into town one evening. Everyone could just serve themselves as they pleased.

Flavorful Flounder

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2008
Oh my goodness, delicious! I didn't have time to get the grill going so I baked at 350 for 10, put on the topping and broiled for 5. No green onions, so just minced a tiny amount of yellow onion. I didn't end up using all of the topping, just a light coating. Just wonderful!

Pumpkin Pound Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2007
Very moist, delicious cake! I substituted 1/2 cup of butter for a portion of the shortening since I didn't have enough shortening on hand. I added semi-sweet chocolate chips to the batter instead making a glaze. Yum!

Ice Cream Sandwich Desserts

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2007
Absolutely delicious!! I made a scaled down version the first time around. Followed the recipe exactly, just made it smaller in a loaf pan. The second time I made it was for my brother's birthday. I did the bottom layer with sandwiches, then a jar of hot fudge sauce, then a tiny jar of peanut butter (melt for about 30 seconds first to make it easier to spread). Then 1/2 of the whipped cream mixture. Then another layer of sandwiches, a jar of caramel sauce then the rest of the whipped cream. I chopped up 2 peanut butter cups to put on top. So rich and so good!

Fresh Fruit and Yogurt Ice Pops

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2007
Perfect, just what I was looking for! I would probably omit the sugar if your strawberries are really sweet--mine were! Otherwise, I bet Splenda might do the trick with less calories.

Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Jul. 31, 2007
Absolutely amazing! Upon reader suggestions, I chilled each layer before adding the next. I lined the pan with parchment paper to avoid the sticking problems that others had mentioned. Once the last chocolate layer hardened, I removed from the fridge and used a large knife to cut all squares. I store squares in a tupperware in the fridge. This makes it ideal for making ahead for a party, etc. Thanks for the recipe!

Microwave Spiced Nuts

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2006
These are excellent and so easy. I toasted walnuts in the oven for a few minutes to make sure they were nice and crunchy. Also added a bit of cayenne to the butter mix to give a subtle bite. Added a light sprinkling of salt after the nuts were resting on the paper. Delicious! I'm packaging these for the family this year instead of all those Christmas cookies.

Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Absolutely delicious!! I've served with the Cinnamon graham sticks and Teddy Grahams for kids. Perfect for any fall gathering. I plan to use for a kids' Halloween party and a Thanksgiving appetizer.

Becca's Barbequed Beans

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
Very, very good. I used only 1 lb of ground turkey and a whole medium onion. I made this about 4 hours before a party started and set the slow cooker on low. Everyone liked it! This will be a staple for our cookouts in the future.

Raspberry Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
Absolutely amazing. I'll definitely make this again. I used angel food cake in place of pound cake (after reading other reviews). I layered with raspberries, blueberries and strawberries to keep with the patriotic theme of our fourth of July party. My last layer was a layer of whipped cream and I created a flag design on the top using blueberries and raspberries. It was a hit! Next time I may use 3 packages of cream cheese--the glass bowl I used must have been very wide and I had to layer it very thinly so I'd have enough. Used lowfat cream cheese and Splenda. Spectacular!! Thank you for the recipe!

Spinach Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2006
Absolutely delicious! I served for our 4th of July party and everyone loved them. I'm a novice at making deviled eggs and many of you probably know this, but I'll share: Be careful with making these ahead of time! I made these a day before, covered them and put them in the fridge. The day of the party I discovered that the filling dried out! Luckily I saved them by removing all of the filling and re-mixing with a bit of extra mayo. Next time I want to prepare these ahead of time, I'll just remove the yolks and store in an airtight container and then mix it up an hour or so before serving. I added about 3 strips of extra bacon to this recipe.

This was delicious. I didn't add the eggs and just used regular mustard and it's still very tasty.

Broccoli-Cauliflower Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2004
This was DELICIOUS! We ate this one night as a meal in itself! Made only 1/2 the dressing as suggested by other users and it was plenty. Substituted Splenda for sugar and used lowfat mayo and turkey bacon. I plan to try the sunflower seeds next time (as suggested by a reviewer) and will definitely try at our next potluck. Thanks for the recipe!

Kettle Corn

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2004
I've been dying to find a good recipe that will give me the taste of good kettle corn at home. This is fabulous! If I could give it more than 5 stars I would. I followed previous recommendations to pop the 3 pieces of corn first to avoid burning. Added a tiny bit of salt at the end and PERFECT!

Cornbread Muffins I

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2004
Made this recipe several times with thick soups and it's heavenly! They've really been a hit alongside chili for my husband and his friends. I've used drained canned corn when out of frozen and it's turned out just as good. Definitely not your everyday bland cornbread. Thank you for the recipe!

Baked Onion Dip I

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2004
Yum! I made 1.5x the recipe for a party. Instead of all mayo, I used 1/2 sour cream and 1/2 mayo (both FAT FREE). Sprinkled in a little minced garlic because we like the flavor. Served with scoop tortilla chips. Good stuff! Thanks for the recipe!

Maple Salmon

This was great! I substituted sugar-free syrup which probably made the mixture a little thin, but it was still very good! Thank you for the recipe. We'll definitely make again!
