Braised Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2011
Decent recipe. The flavor was good, but as always, my prok chops were a little dry. I cooked them about 50 minutes so maybe I need to go a little less next time. The gravy was tasty though, and helped the dryness with the chops. I had to separate into two pans though, because I don't have a pan large enough for 4 chops, which means I put 1/2 cup of water in each pan and then doubled the amount of gravy, which I am glad I did because we used almost all of it!

Barbecued Beef

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
Very good BBQ beef! I followed the recipe to a T and my family enjoyed it. I used a boneless shoulder roast instead of a chuck roast. It is a bit leaner, and although it didn't shred quite as easy as a chuck roast would have, it was not too fatty or greasy at all. But still very tasty!

Simple Whole Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 30, 2011
We've made this recipe three times and every time it's been delicoius! After the first time, we cut the nutmeg in half because it was a little strong for us, but still great as written. Very very moist chicken, even my picky kids eat it! We made it twice for guests in town, and they raved about it as well. One time we forgot to season overnight and didn't do it until just before we cooked it, and it was still delish.

Herb Rubbed Sirloin Tip Roast

Reviewed: May 18, 2011
This was a very good recipe! I had back luck last time I made a tip sirloin, so I was looking for something with lots of flavor. This did the trick! I don't like spicy foods, and this was perfect! After reading Joel's response about the salt, I did cut the kosher salt in half to only 1/2 tablespoon and it was not too salty. I also didn't have any cayenne pepper, so I skipped it. I had a 2lb roast, so I only cooked it for 40 minutes, then turned the oven off and let it sit in the oven for another 15 minutes. It was perfect! Very flavorful and cooked perfectly! Thanks - I will definitely make this again! I almost forgot to mention that while it was cooking, my kitchen smelled like a restaurant! I kept sniffing the oven because it smelled SOOO good!

Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
I used this brine recipe for my first turkey ever. It was very good, and made a delicious gravy. But I was hoping the turkey would have been a little more moist. All the other reviews gave me high expectations. Don't get me wrong, it was very good, but I was hoping for stellar and didn't get those results. I will most likely use it again next year though, as I can't imagine a moister turkey using a different method.

Spiced Pumpkin Seeds

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
These were very good. Maybe a little salty. Next time I'll probably use a bit less. But the worcestershire really brings an interesting and pleasant flavor to these seeds!

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
Meatloaf doesn't get better than this! I just love this recipe - the French fried onions make it so good! It's a regular in our house. Even my very picky 5-year-old requests my meatloaf regularly, and he passes on dinner most nights.

Slow Cooker London Broil

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
I really like this recipe because it is very tastey and SO easy! As someone suggested, I add a little worcestershire. That and the tomato soup really bring a fantastic flavor to the meat. I love how the meat becomes so tender yet not overcooked in the crock pot. I usually cook it for about 10 hours. I shared this recipe with a friend, and she passed it along as well!

Cara's Creamy Stuffed Shells

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
These shells are a bit of work, but so worth it! They were so delicious, my mother-in-law asked me for the recipe; she is a cook and I'm just a novice in the kitchen. :) I am hungry just thinking about making them again.

Basic Microwave Risotto

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
I love this risotto recipe because it is so easy and still tastes very good! I don't have to stand by a pot stirring and stirring; instead I can make this while I am actually cooking other things too.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2011
This banana bread is so moist and rich! I make it exactly as directed and it's so yummy! And it makes the house smell great while it's baking! I keep making it for friends and they've all told me it's the best they've ever had. It's the sour cream, but I haven't admitted that to anyone yet.

Krista's Sticky Honey Garlic Wings

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2010
I love, love, LOVE this recipe! I agree with others though, I added a bit more cornstarch and slightly less water to make the sauce thicker. But the flavor was fantastic! My husband and I could not get enough the first time I made them. I couldn't find this recipe to make them again tonight, so I used something close, and it was just not right. I was desperate to find this again, and now that I have, I will NOT lose it again!
