Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2008
Excellent taste. I love this applesauce. You can definitely cut the sugar some without sacrificing taste. I added a dash of salt. Delish!

Very good banana bread. Makes just one loaf, so I will definitely double it next time.

German Apple Cake I

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
This is great. Good taste, nice and moist with a good texture. This is not a fancy cake, something you might have with tea or as a brunch item.

Apple Crumb Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2008
Very good pie recipe. The crumb mixture tastes okay, but didnt look like anything special. I think by tomorrow it will be soggy. Still does taste just great!

This was delish! Made it for a dinner party and served with vanilla ice cream. So good. Like a caramel apple pie.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
This was terrific. I didnt have brown gravy mix, so I made my own. If you want, I used roughly 3/4 cup beef broth, 2-3 tablespoons of cornstarch, 1 teaspoon or more of soy sauce and wisked well. Added to the pan juices and wine at the very end and cooked in the roasting pan, on the stove top until it was thickened. Delicious.

Kathy's Delicious Whole Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Followed the recipe exactly. It smelled great all day long, but when we sat down to eat, we were very disappointed. It had little flavor and the appearance was less than appetizing. Sorry.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2008
Very good cornbread, but I read it as 1/4 cup of butter (1/2 stick) instead of 1/4 lb. So, I ended up with a drier, but still yummy cornbread. So, if you are trying to watch your butter intake, rest assured that you will get a good result with 1/2 the amount of butter.

Yummy. I added carrots and celery but next time I will not, it was a little watery.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2008
Good pork chops. I think next time I would try it with pounded out pork chops more like cutlets. The chops were a little thick for my taste. This was not the fault of the recipe at all. I use this same method for chicken all the time.

Cream of Fresh Asparagus Soup II

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2008
Great flavor. This was very easy and quick to prepare. I didnt use all the sour cream/soup mixture at the end, because I thought it sounded like too much sour cream. I was afraid that combined with the lemon it would have been overwhelmingly sour, but it wasn't. It was mild and creamy. I also forgot to add salt and pepper but added at the table. Really didnt need it. The complex flavor of the roux was tasty enough. Perhaps also because I used salted butter. Excellent soup!

Baked Haddock

Reviewed: Jun. 6, 2007
Very nice taste. I always worry about baking coated fish because sometimes the coating turns out mushy. This was quite good. I did have to cook a little longer than 15 minutes but I had a lot of Haddock.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

This was awful - I made it twice, with the same bad results. The sauce overppowered the fish.

Spritz Cookies II

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2007
Very good. Only comment, I made the dough the day before and refrigerated it. After bringing to room temp on the counter for the dough was not as easy to work though the spritzer machine as the first batch I made that I used immediately. I would use immediately next time.

North Italian Meat Sauce (Ragu Bolognese)

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2006
Excellent recipe. I used all beef since I didnt have pork. Also used chicken broth instead of beef stock - well, it was not detectable. Also used milk instead of cream - nice creamy finish. Thanks
