The older i get, the more I love to cook. I've found the more you cook and get out of your "usual" the better your skills become and the more fun it is. I love listing to music in the kitchen and cooking, dinner is the best part of the day. And I love the movie Julie and Julia.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook my famous spaghetti for family and guest. No one has ever not like my spaghetti. I love to learn to make new dishes that taste amazing and looks great. I range from baked goods to wholesome meals to healthy meals. Healthy meals can taste great too I've learned, it's all about flavors and spices.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Eve,my mom always made Homemade Creamy Potato Soup. It was warm and creamy, perfect on a cold winter's night with the lights on the tree glowing.
My cooking triumphs
The Holiday/Christmas Chocolate truffles. Everyone loved them and the goodie baskets made great gifts.
My cooking tragedies
First time i tried to make homemade biscuits, i misread Baking Powder and used baking soda. They turned out really salty and hard as a hockey puck! But my fiance (just started dating at that time though) smiled and said "oh no babe, these are great" and I had one and said "No they're not!, these are horrible!" After we found what went wrong, but I still haven't lived that one down, almost 4 years later..:-)
