So my son needed to take a flan to school for Mexican Independence Day. I'm an American living in Mexico so if I was going to make flan I needed to do an execelent job. After comparing the ingredients and directions of this flan and another recipe I found, I decided to go with this one. I made one in a 9 in. round and I made a really small one so that I could try it. I'm not a flan fan, but I had to taste it before sending it off to school. I didn't add an extra egg like many suggested, but I did add about 3 oz. of cream cheese. I put the cream cheese and a little evaporated milk in a blender before adding all of the other ingredients to the blender. I also used a water bath. The small one turned out perfectly. It was quite yummy. My husband and son loved it. The larger one took quite some time to bake. I stopped keeping track after 2 hours. Finally, I just turned the oven off and left it in there. I used a knife to go around the edges and turned in out onto a plate. I will definately make this again.
