I mostly followed the recipe, except that I used day-old french bread cut into large chunks and I let the whole thing refrigerate overnight. Overall, we were very pleased with the flavor of the dish, but I think I will be making some changes the next time around. It was much too mushy for our tastes, even with the stale bread soaking up the egg mixture overnight. Next time I will cut the milk by at least half a cup and maybe get rid of an egg, and I think that will fix everything. I totally recommend this recipe with those changes! The chunky french bread was awesome, and I can't imagine it with regular sandwich bread.
