S'mores Crumb Bars

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
I liked this, but thought the sugar in the crust made it overly sweet, next time I'll reduce the sugar some.

BBQ Chicken Pizza I

Reviewed: Jul. 28, 2010
This was very good. I'd made BBQ pizza before with just plain BBQ sauce but the extra ingredients in this recipe made it taste much closer to the BBQ pizzas we've had in restaurants and the Gouda is the perfect cheese for this pizza

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
These were really good muffins, cakey and sweet like the ones you get at bakeries. Made the muffin part exactly as is, and the only change I made was to use brown sugar instead of white for the crumb topping. They also made exactly 6 muffins filled to the very top of a standard size muffin pan, but did require about 30 minutes of baking time to cook completely in the center.

Salsa Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 15, 2010
I've made this a couple of times for potluck BBQs and everyone liked it. I used a red onion and yellow pepper for a little more color, and it makes a lot of the dressing so the second time I used 3 cups of dry pasta instead of 2 and there was still plenty of dressing to coat everything well.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2010
This will definitely be my regular zucchini bread recipe. It made a dense, moist bread that even my husband liked and he's not much of a zucchini fan. I didn't have walnuts so I threw in some sliced almonds instead, which were really good in the bread and I'll probably continue to use almonds in the future since I usually have some in the pantry.

Overnight Pancakes

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
These were okay. They were a little blander than regular pancakes, so I think next time I'll increase the sugar. They did come out light and fluffy though and get that 4th star because it was nice to make the batter the night before and just wake up in the morning, turn on the griddle, and start cooking. I quartered the recipe since it was just my husband and I and it made 5 very large pancakes, so I imagine the whole batch would feed a crowd.

Instant Yeast Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
These are definitely more biscuit like than yeast rolls but they were still good. The dough was quite easy to work with and not very sticky so they could just be patted out with little extra flour. They were too sweet though so next time I'll reduce the sugar to 3 Tbsp, and also probably skip folding them over with butter in the center and just brush the tops with a little melted butter instead.

Mrs. Sigg's Snickerdoodles

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2011
These came out quite well. They spread a little more than I'd hoped but still were soft and chewy and were flavorful. They also smelled wonderful. I'll make them again but open a new box of baking soda to see if that helps keep them a but thicker.

Chocolate Pile-Up Cookies

Reviewed: May 25, 2011
I made these for an office potluck and they received rave reviews! They were a nice chewy cookie and didn't spread too much in the oven. I did replace the coffee-flavored liqueur with 2 TBSP of strong brewed coffee.
