About this Cook
My new-er role as a mother of 4 is fulfilling and challenging at times. My previous life as an elementary school teacher should have prepared me for this- but God has a great sense of humor! My passions include baking, cooking and connecting with other women. I also love blogging. Visit me at for more about me.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake anything. I also love cooking Indian food for my family. I also like Caribbean food. One of my favourites that combines both is Chapatis and Jerk Chicken.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom and I make the same thing every Christmas eve. We make a traditional soup with crab called Calaloo. It is so spicy, smooth and full of flavour.
My cooking triumphs
Making real focaccia, croissants, and cinnamon buns. They all take days to make.
My cooking tragedies
Making snails on Christmas Eve, I used to eat this as a child and it was amazing. When I tried to make it they turned out tough and horrid:(

Butterscotch Brownies I
These turned out amazing. I love the chewy light texture. I added some butterscotch chips that I crushed to the dry ingredients. I also added a little more vanilla than what was recommended. They were yummy!!! FYI They are thin but thats not a big deal to me considering on the number I will eat!!!

Simple Scones
What a great way to make scones! The grated butter makes a big difference! I found that it didn't mix well and seemed to fall apart instead of make a ball. however I think that is the secret to these scones. The messy mixing means they are light, moist and taste! Excellent! By the way I didn't use the currants or raisins. This recipe was easy and delicious!
