As I said...I am researching the topic of Ayurvedic cooking...and researching, and studying, and researching some more.  The concepts are very interesting...and the ideas are very tempting...but I still need to gain more insight to maintain this program.  I am probably going to have to talk… MORE

About this Cook
Baking is so therapeutic...with 2 science degrees and 2 education degrees...my favorite place is baking (and tasting) in my kitchen. Just created a blog on this site: Loosing "Half of Myself"...without loosing my mind.
My favorite things to cook
If I have to cook...it's with a slow cooker...so far, (knocking on wood) it hasn't failed me yet! I am now working to get healthy...I have lost 150 pounds so far...and this is encouraging me to cook, and cook healthy. I have been recently very successful with Shirataki Noodles, Artichokes Hearts and oven roasted veggies...low in calories and very healthy!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Eve...a seafood extravaganza
My cooking triumphs
Creating the "carrot cake" from my youth...and figuring out my Polish Grandmother's Christmas cookie recipe that uses her irons...and they older than dirt
My cooking tragedies
I try to cook healthy...so to keep loosing weight. I found this recipe for a "healthy" eggplant parmesan...it took me all day to prepare...and was so not worth the time and effort...and it tasted worse than dirt. There are just some things that should not be changed.

Shrimp and Cheesy Grits with Bacon
This was my first attempt at grits...and I loved it...of course, added a little Italian twist. The changes were actually from my son's girlfriend from down South.

Waffle Iron Cornbread
So crispy!!! I add some sweetener (sugar, honey, monk fruit, or just use maple syrup).
