About this Cook
I'm a cardiac nurse practitioner. I love to cook and love this site!
My favorite things to cook
Appetizers!! I am known as the "appetizer Queen" among my family and friends.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Learned to cook with my Grandma. I still have the set of cookbooks she gave me as a child. (They are in serious need of rebinding but still get the job done). I generally reproduce my childhood holiday meals for my family but add a bit of my own personal flare.
My cooking triumphs
I won an appetizer cook off and was awarded a trophy!
My cooking tragedies
When I first started dating my husband I was going to make him this wonderful decadent german chocolate/cream cheese cake. I did not realize his oven was a wreck. It came out with burnt edges and a very gooey center!

Citrus Cheesecake
I have made this twice to take to a couple of summer parties. It is delicious and a huge hit. Never a crumb leftover to take home! The citrus makes it a great summer dessert. I did make it with a graham cracker crust instead of the flour crust but added the citrus zest to the graham cracker mixture. Love this recipe!

Roasted Vegetables
This veggie dish is such a wonderful autumn/holiday side dish. Not only does it taste delish, but it looks so festive. I made it for Thanksgiving last year and have made it many times since. It has been requested for our holiday dinner tomorrow!
