Green Bean Okazu

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2011
My husband and I loved this. I used frozen green beans, which I cooked according to the package while I browned the beef. While I combined the two, I replaced the 1 c of water in the recipe with 2 TBL of sake. Yum.

very juicy, but also quite bland. Next time we make them we'll add more seasoning to it.

Broccoli Cheese Casserole

I agree that you should double the rice. My husband really liked, so that alone will cause me to make it again as the man needs more veggies in his diet.

Zucchini and Corn Topped with Cheese

So yummy, but oh so full of calories from the cheese. Next time I'll put in less cheese and see if its just as good.

Bok Choy, Carrots and Green Beans

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2010
I couldn't find peanut oil at the store so I improvised with sesame oil, peanut sauce, and sake. I also used the white and green part of the bok choy. I liked this a lot, but don't really crave making it again, which is the only reason it didn't get a higher rating.

Turkey Pot Pie

You know it's good when you are thinking about a second helping and you are not even halfway through your first one yet. Our entire family loved this recipe. We substituted left-over mashed potatoes for cubes potatoes since that was all we had on hand. It was still delicious. This will now be a part of our thanksgiving tradition.

Creamy Split Pea Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 2, 2010
My belly is thanking you for the deliciousness that is this recipe. It was so yummy the first night and even better the next day. I always hesitated making split pea because I didn't want to make a ham first, but then I realized I can just get thick slices of ham from the deli and dice them up for the recipe. It worked like a charm.

Blueberry Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
When mixing the topping, it turned into a cookie dough consistency, so it was hard to spread and never baked through (even after 40 minutes). The taste was decent, but because of the topping it was more like a cobbler than a crisp. Hopefully someone can figure out what I did wrong with the topping, so other people can avoid the same mistake.
