Lobster Tails Steamed in Beer

Thanks kathleen for a quick and delicious recipe!Steaming with beer turned out to be the way to go for very moist and favourable lobster tails. With the price of lobster tails you don't want them dried out in the oven or overcooked on the barbque. Great with a hot dip of butter,lemon and garlic powder..badaboom,badabing..will make again.

Chinese Chicken Soup

We enjoyed this very much. Did make a few changes though. I added sliced dried garlic and chopped fresh mushrooms. Instead of lettuce, I used chopped fresh spinach-the taste was great, and stirred in 2 fresh eggs at the end ( like an egg drop soup). I only used 1 1/2 tsp of Asian chili paste and believe me that was HOT enough! I used wun tun noodles, but served the soup OVER them. It works very well over rice too. This soup had a wonderful flavour. Will make again. Thanks for sharing.

Spicy Indian Chicken Curry Yummy

I have made this twice now. First with chicken thighs and again with chicken breasts. The thighs are much more tender and produces more juices, thus making for a more abundant sauce. I did reduce the amount of red pepper by half as well as the black pepper. I also crushed the spices and broke the cinnamon stick in half only. The flavour was great. A bit of work but worth the time! This definitely beats the jarred curry mixes etc.

Rosemary Marinated Lamb Chops

This is one of the better lamb marinades I've tried. I have used it twice now. However both times I've had rather tough cuts of lamb :-( but the flavour of the marinade is great! and made up for the toughness.

Simple BBQ Ribs

i used country style pork loin ribs(very thick)for this recipe..simmered them in water for about an hour..then baked..extremely tender!! next time we'll put them on the bbq and baste with sauce after boiling them..I'll also try different types of ribs next time..the broth from the ribs was very flavourable..so..i froze it to use as a soup base in the winter.. thanks Lloyd..i'll always make ribs this way from now on

Curry Broccoli Salad

took this to a luncheon and it got great reveiws..I used dried cranberries instead of cherries..I think you could experiment with different fruit..raisins..pineapple etc I also used more curry than suggested..great summer salad!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

made this on the week end..actually cook it for approx 16 hrs on low in the crock pot..overnight.. it was the best roast we have ever had. fork tender.. gravy was great..i did thicken it with cornstarch..i added a can of mushrooms also..i think this is one you could experiment with as far as added seasonings go..garlic..thyme etc will make again thanks brenda

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

I made this stuffing for our thanksgiving dinner..(canadian)..I always use sausage in my stuffing, but the addition of the dried cranberries and apple gave it a wonderful flavour..I still had fresh thyme growing in the garden and used that..I think it made a difference..not your boring dressing any longer..this was great!

Curried Rice Pilaf

This was fast and easy and delicious. all things that make it 5 stars. Didn't have green onions on hand so just used sweet onions diced...turned out fine. Added a pinch more curry ..as we loooove curry.

Burgundy Lamb Shanks

The lemon peel gave this a great taste. I used about a cup of red wine and a cup of beef broth. Served this over Quinoa for a change. Did cook this in a covered dutch oven in a slow oven(320) for about 3 hours. 'Fall off the bone' goodness! Thanks for the recipe.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

Made these using skinless, boneless, chicken breasts. Cut them into 'chicken fingers'. The flour mix was great..did add garlic powder and more cayenne. I no longer own a deep fryer so did fry them in my wok using canola oil , about 4 min a side. They came out crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I used 1 cup of my favorite new HOT SAUCE..'Valentina' made in Mexico and it is Hotttt! and has a great flavour as well. I think this will be my new wingless 'Hot Wings' recipe from now on. Less fat - more flavour. Thanks for the recipe!

Salmon Patties II

this was a great tip..using the self rising flour. I used pancake mix and it worked very well.made the patties light. i did however add dill weed and chopped onion, as well as garlic and some cilantro i had on hand. thanks for the flour tip Del. I will try this with crab too!

Chicken Pesto a la Lisa

Fast,easy and delicious..and that makes a '5 star'. Did not use the Parmesan as I felt the Feta made it salty enough. Did add fresh tomatoes from the garden and some diced red sweet peppers.Fresh Basil is a must. It's one of those dishes you can play with. Thanks for the recipe Lisa.

Chorizo and Lentil Stew

To make this a meal in a dish, we added sliced carrots, gr. peppers and pork loin in bite size pieces. I had a chorizo sausage on hand and just used it sliced. Used chicken broth instead of water. I didn't have dried lentils so used a can of black beans and it was very good. We did increase the spices though, especially the curry. Finished this with chopped cilantro. Very nice!
