I've tried several different recipes for scones and this one tastes the best. The most wonderful thing about this basic recipe is how versatile it is. Instead of 1/2 cup Sour Cream, I've used various flavors of yogurt, mashed banana, blackberries boiled down with seeds strained out and then thickened with corn starch, and even guava paste melted down with some water added. In order to get a denser consistency, I use 1 cup all purpose flour and 1 cup bread flour.
