Sauerkraut Soup II

I did a couple of mods, used fresh green beans instead of carrots, fresh potatoes, didn't use the dill, thought it came out great! I think next time though, instead, I'm going to use shredded cabbage instead of the Sauerkraut, I know that seems to miss the point, but felt it was too vinegary for me.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VI

Loved these, but did make a few changes.. Lowered the brown sugar to 3/4 cup, added 1/2 cup maple syrup, lowered the cinnamon to 1/2 tsp, and eliminated the honey. Only because I happen to have the syrup and not the honey this time.

Not something I would do every day, and I'm definitely not a cake maker.. lol. But loved the flavors. What I would do next time though, once I realized that I was basically making cool whip for in between the layers, would get the cool whip to use, rather then make it.

Oven Baked Jambalaya

Didn't think of stirring this occasionally, but came out great just the same. I forgot to add the chicken, and since I don't like shrimp, had to go by hearsay, but the kids ate several bowl fulls (teens), and the adults are still raving about it (made it 2 days ago). The only thing I did differently, was I used 2 tbls instead of 3 for the creole spice since it appeared to be so salty. Which seems to be a good thing with left overs, since it has gotten spicier with age, and is even better the next day. Just a great recipe, thank you for sharing..

They were very good, but did have to add some milk to hold them together while cooking. I also didn't have self rising flour, so I added a bit of baking soda and powder and they came out great.. My step son, who is very picky with food, loved them..

Macaroni and Tuna Fish Salad

I just added a jar of pimentos, a celery stalk, a tsp of mustard, and two of minced garlic, and upped the mayo to 3/4 c. Mostly because I can't leave things well enough alone. :-)
