Sauerkraut Soup II

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2013
I did a couple of mods, used fresh green beans instead of carrots, fresh potatoes, didn't use the dill, thought it came out great! I think next time though, instead, I'm going to use shredded cabbage instead of the Sauerkraut, I know that seems to miss the point, but felt it was too vinegary for me.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies VI

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2013
Loved these, but did make a few changes.. Lowered the brown sugar to 3/4 cup, added 1/2 cup maple syrup, lowered the cinnamon to 1/2 tsp, and eliminated the honey. Only because I happen to have the syrup and not the honey this time.

Donut Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2013
Okay, so I made a batch, didn't quite make 24, but I could have put too much in each muffin spot. I have to say, they were gone almost as soon as I got them done.. Thanks for sharing these!

Didn't use the apple, and cut the curry down to 1/2 tsp, and was absolutely fabulous!

Strawberries and Cream Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2011
Not something I would do every day, and I'm definitely not a cake maker.. lol. But loved the flavors. What I would do next time though, once I realized that I was basically making cool whip for in between the layers, would get the cool whip to use, rather then make it.

I didn't have enough soy sauce, thought I did. But had a great flavor just the same, and was able to freeze some for later lunches.

Oven Baked Jambalaya

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
Didn't think of stirring this occasionally, but came out great just the same. I forgot to add the chicken, and since I don't like shrimp, had to go by hearsay, but the kids ate several bowl fulls (teens), and the adults are still raving about it (made it 2 days ago). The only thing I did differently, was I used 2 tbls instead of 3 for the creole spice since it appeared to be so salty. Which seems to be a good thing with left overs, since it has gotten spicier with age, and is even better the next day. Just a great recipe, thank you for sharing..

Vicki's Hush Puppies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2011
They were very good, but did have to add some milk to hold them together while cooking. I also didn't have self rising flour, so I added a bit of baking soda and powder and they came out great.. My step son, who is very picky with food, loved them..

Macaroni and Tuna Fish Salad

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2011
I just added a jar of pimentos, a celery stalk, a tsp of mustard, and two of minced garlic, and upped the mayo to 3/4 c. Mostly because I can't leave things well enough alone. :-)
