I am a history major turned USCG Chef. I'm still learning everyday. I believe that no mater what you do or enjoy if you are not learning you are not living.
My favorite things to cook
I've always been more of a baker then a cook. Not that I don't enjoy cooking 'real food' but as a broke college student I learned that it is more cost effecent to buy ten things (flour, eggs, butter, chocolate, ect...) and use them for tons of differnt recipes then to buy 10 things for one recipe. (in my case much of the raw ingredents might never be used befor going bad). I realized I was actualy good at baking and the praise is always a moral booster.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both my sisters are Vegan so I spend time trying to edit or find recipes they will enjoy.
My cooking triumphs
Everyday is a new triumph weather it is baking the perfect batch of cookies or simplifying a complex recipe and making it twice as good.
My cooking tragedies
Every cook has trial and error... and some errors can be catasrophic. I've become know for dropping things. Roasted chicken, and crabcakes (I did not 'drop' them but the pan shifted and they smooshed) being the most tragic.
