Butter Tarts

Very nice recipe. I only used sultanas and pecans and the individual tarts were lovely and moist and not too sickly like some recipes. Trying tonight without the nuts. Be warned that they do burn easily so you might need to turn the heat down a bit.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

This cheesecake is fabulous. I'm begged to make it every Christmas. Last Christmas I tried the variation of mixed berries but it didn't contrast enough in taste like the raspberries do so stick to the recipe is my advice. Enjoy!!!!!

Rosemary Mashed Potatoes and Yams

I did this for Thanksgiving this weekend and it was a big hit - even though we were all sceptical. The flavour was great and I'm not a big garlic fan. I would add less garlic then taste and add to individual tastes. Will definitely make this again with any chicken or meat dish.

Brown Family's Favorite Pumpkin Pie

Oh my lord. This pie is absolutely gorgeous. I had people going up for thirds at our Thanksgiving lunch this weekend. The filling is much lighter than a regular pumpkin pie and the streusal topping just gives it that extra something. Beware though - I found that this recipe made two deep dish pies instead of one. A good job on this occassion.

Banana Bread

This was the first time I'd made banana bread and it all went the first night. I took other peoples advice and added some vanilla and cinnamon. My loaf pan was slightly bigger so I reduced the baking time to 40 mins which meant it was still moist! Will definitely make again.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

I scaled this recipe up to 18 servings and baked it in a pyrex casserole dish for my daughters 1st birthday cake (ladybird). Although it took over 3 hours to bake it was well worth it. Very light and moist. I found the almond essence quite overpowering though and would scale back a bit. Alernatively I'm going to try it with vanilla tonight.
