Rosemary Ranch Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2014
1/2 cup of oil is way too much. I used two tablespoons and it was plenty. To me, the flavor is lacking; which really surprised me given the ranch dressing and Worcestershire, not to mention the vinegar, lemon and sugar. It grilled up nice and moist but it wasn't nearly as good as I had hoped.

Quinoa Salad with Mint, Almonds and Cranberries

Reviewed: May 5, 2014
I have to admit, at first I wasn't too impressed but after the flavors had a chance to meld overnight --MMMMMmmmm!!! For this reason, I would recommend making it the day before you plan to serve it. I didn't use kale or tomatoes (mostly because I don't like them) but the carrots, nuts, cranberries, and the fresh mint, mixed with lemon and seasonings.. this is a keeper for sure. Makes me think that spring and summer are on their way! Keeps well in the fridge too. Thank so you much Conner; your taste buds are right on the money!

Excellent! The perfect side dish -- no over-powering flavors but enough flavor to not be bland. YUM!

Chicken Katsu

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2012
This is a good recipe to start with, but if prepared as written, it's bland. I will try it again, but will kick it up several notches with some herbs and seasonings.

Aussie Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 4, 2012
This is very good. I used turkey bacon and omitted the mushrooms just because I don't like them. I also took the advice of another reviewer and omitted the light corn syrup. I'm glad I did because I think it would have been too sweet otherwise. My husband liked it a lot -- he wants me to definitely make it again. I liked it, but to me it had a little bit of an egg flavor -- sounds crazy I know but that's what I thought. The only thing I could figure was that it was the warm mayonnaise that was the flavor coming through. I will make it again when my daughter is over for dinner, she will give me an honest opinion.

Risotto with Chicken, Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: May 20, 2012
This is an excellent change up from the same old boring chicken! The spices really make this dish flavorful and the red bell pepper gives it color and a texture. Browning the chicken is a must because you get those great flavors left in the pan. I didn't have a bay leaf but otherwise followed the recipe to the letter. If I was to make any change at all, it would only be to pare back the amount of meat or increase the orzo. Thank you for this great recipe, this one is definitely a keeper!

Green Bean Stir-Fry

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
It doesn't get any better than this folks. Seriously, this will be my new go-to recipe for fresh green beans! I parboiled my beans first and then quick- fried them so they wouldn't be too squeaky. Then added the ingredients as stated in the recipe. Yumm-o! :o)

Marinade for Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2012
This is an outstanding marinade! I wouldn't call it a barbecue sauce because that always makes me think of sauce like Sweet Baby Ray's or similar. This is a fantastic marinade for grilling chicken and I made no changes to the recipe. It's PERFECT as is!

Indian Tomato Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
This was very good and I will definitely make it again. However, I did think it was lacking something...not entirely sure what though. I may try a little curry next time. This is definitely a good recipe that can be embellished upon.

Meatball Nirvana

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
This one's a keeper! I made Grandma Maggio's Spaghetti Sauce from this site along with these meatballs. While I didn't think too much of the sauce (it was just okay), these meatballs stole the show! I didn't have any Franks RedHot so I used Tabasco. YUMMMMMMMMY! Thank you lovestohost for this great addition to Allrecipes!

Grandma Maggio's Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
I was super excited to make this sauce and followed the directions to the letter. While I did like the sauce, I have to say that I was a little disappointed. I wanted to give it a fair shot and waited for two days to review it. I know that often times, flavors need time to meld before the finished product can be judged fairly. This sauce is just okay but not worthy of five stars. I liked the flavor of the merlot wine -- it made a richer sauce. However, I think I will keep my original recipe handed down through my paternal Italian side of the family and add the merlot as a boost to the flavors.

Roll-Out Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2011
Excellent dough for using cookie cutters! The only thing I omitted was the lemon extract. I opted for real butter (not margarine) as I do in all my baked goods. They are very tasty and I'll bet you can't eat just one! :o)

Mediterranean Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2011
This was very good - sauce has great flavor, there's just not enough of it. I took the advice of some other raters and used canned diced tomatoes and it turned out well. Don't do as another reviewer said and try to thicken the sauce with cornstarch. This is not meant to be a traditional spaghetti sauce...it's much lighter and contemporary. Smells wonderful cooking.

This is the best (most delicious and versatile) recipe for scones! I added huckleberries and grated orange rind. YUMMM-O!!! The recipe needs no tweaking, alterations or modifications in any way. PERFECT as is!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2011
Excellent carrot cake recipe (and there are a TON of them out there!) However, never, EVER grease and FLOUR a pan -- especially one for cake or anything sweet. Always grease and SUGAR. It releases from the pan much easier and doesn't leave that ugly powder residue behind.

Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2011
Holy Pumpkin Bread Batman! This is EXCELLENT!!! I took some of the other reviewer's advice and substituted part of the oil for applesauce and used part brown sugar instead of all white sugar, and added vanilla. I also made a glaze of brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon and spread it thinly over the warm loaves. Big time comfort food!!!

Blueberry Cream Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2011
This is a nice muffin but not worth five stars. I expected a bakery quality product as another reviewer claimed. I made it with everything the recipe called for and added a tsp of baking powder because another reviewer said that it was flat and heavy. I agree that over-mixing the batter can make these flat but I also think that only one tsp of baking soda isn't much in relation to the amount of batter. I also added 2 tsp of cinnamon. I used fresh blueberries and they are pretty expensive right now so I was a bit disappointed that they weren't as good as I had expected.

Angel Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
After trying this recipe as it is written and then going back and trying it again, I agree with many of the previous reviewers; MORE SAUCE! Also, don't omit the wine or substitute with chicken broth (as has been suggested); wine gives the sauce a wonderful tang that you can't get without it. I do recommend slicing the chicken into strips and doubling (at least) the sauce recipe (don't double the cream cheese though). I like to brown the chicken breasts a little in a pan with butter first before I put it in a baking dish. The slow cooker idea is a hit as well!
