Oven Pot Roast

Very very good! I screwed up & bought sweet vermouth instead. My roast was smaller, but to me there wasn't enough gravy. But since I'm watching carbs again, it works. For those who want more gravy, I advise doubling those ingredients.

Feta Chicken Salad

Hmmm....I thought this was just OK. I wasn't that thrilled with the red pepper in it. (& I only used half) I love feta, so I thought I would love this. Oh, well!

Easy Swedish Apple Pie

This was good, but I think if I make it again, I would use pie filling. The apples kind of dried out while baking. Using pie filling would also eliminate all the peeling/chopping, thus making it one of those SUPER easy desserts!

Creamy Chicken Breasts

Most recipes that call for "creamy salad dressing", without specifying a type, refer to Miracle Whip. So that's what I used. It was OK, but if I were to make it again, I would bake it. (with the sauce) I know it would be a lot more flavorful.

Thai Peanut Chicken

I'm glad I read the reviews- I tripled the sauce except for the cayenne. (used less) It was a bit thick, so I added more seasoned rice vinegar & a little water. Used a 1 lb bag of frozen carrots, broccoli, & cauliflower- defrosted with hot water in a colander. Served over brown rice. Lots of calories, but healthy ones! I think next time I will tone down the ginger a bit & chop the peanuts. ALWAYS use low sodium soy sauce! Yummy- try this!

Maple Nut Cake

I give it a 4 1/2, but the cake is a tad bit dry. Will reduce the flour next time to see if that helps! That said, the cake is gone at my house!

Pretty good stuff- healthy & easy. Subbed 2 small cans of green salsa- couldn't find the tomatillos either! Used frozen corn- 1 cup I think.

Sunday Best Fruit Salad

Pretty good- I subbed mandarin oranges for the bananas since I don't like 'em. Also didn't "decorate".....just mixed all together. The pie filling makes it all shiny & beautiful!

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

I just made this & I am in love!!! I used a 12-oz package of mild Italian sausage. Added half of a jar of oil-packed sun-dried tomatoes. Omitted onion because I was too lazy to chop anything. Used a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes & 1 T. dried basil. Simmered all this for about 30 minutes. (oh- also added a bit of brown sugar) THEN I added the cream. OMG this is TOO good. This is obviously a splurge meal....thanks for submitting!!!

Turnaround Turkey and Rice

Berry Banana Smoothies

I halved this for just me & used a frozen banana. Pretty good- but I tried it again after messing around. Added 6 ice cubes, 2 packets of Splenda, 1 T. sugar-free vanilla syrup & replaced the OJ with milk. YUM!!! Just what I was looking for.

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

I read the reviews & knew I didn't want shredded chicken, so I decided to bake it it the oven instead. I prepared the chicken in a 13x9 & covered it with foil & put it in the fridge for a few hours. Then baked at 375 covered for 30 minutes & uncovered for 15. (spooned sauce over after removing foil.) Everyone loved it & the chicken was tender. (it was fresh chicken, not frozen) Thanks for submitting!

Simple Turkey Chili

Really good & healthy too! Not to mention easy. I added tomato paste as someone else did & did not mash the beans. I used the 2 c. water, but added 1 more as it was a little TOO thick. Omitted cayenne & added extra 1/2 t. cumin. I think next time I will add another can of beans. Thanks!

Exquisite Pizza Sauce

Yummy & easy!!! My kind of recipe. I think I will omit the cayenne next time, as my little one could detect the slight heat! I did not think the 2 T. honey was too much. Also, omitted the anchovy. Used a pizza crust from Central Market's bakery, mozzarella, & Grana Padano. Used about half the sauce for one pizza. Thanks for the great recipe!

Broccoli Salad IV

Very good! Did the low carb thing like others (mayo & splenda), but also used dried blueberries instead of raisins. (not a big fan) I also only used 1/4 cup since they have sugar. I love the crunch of the sunflower seeds & the slight sweetness of the random blueberries! Thanks!Oh- it's much easier to just use the real bacon bits. (Hormel) I also recommend MUCH less onion.
