Best Ever Hot Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
I'm still searching for a recipe like TGIF- this is just too greasy for me. It's good- just not what I'm looking for.

Fudge

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
I'm giving this 4 because pretty much everything chocolate is good! This just tasted like melted & formed chips to me. If that's what you are looking for, this is it! Me, personally, I like a different texture for my fudge. Very easy. I used 2 c. milk chocolate chips & 1 c. semi-sweet. They still were pretty dark, as another reviewer said.

Broccoli and Cheese Brunch Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2005
Good- I used 12 oz of low fat sausage. Maybe 2 Roma tomatoes would look better on top. Great low carb, low cal dish! We used it as an entree'.

Caramel Apple Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2005
Wow- I didn't realize I hadn't rated this yet!!! Serves 8?? Yeah, right! I usually divide this between 4 ramekins & sprinkle pecan chips over the top. SHOULD be enough for 4 large apples. I could eat this straight out of the bowl. I'll bet it would be great on ice cream or as a cake frosting!?!? Can't say enough about it. Used cored & sliced Fuji apples. Thanks Lori!

New Year's Day Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
I chose this for my New Year's black-eyed pea recipe! It's pretty good- it's not spicy & is more of a mush than a soup. You really have to watch it & keep adding water- it makes a lot- use a big pot.(4-5 qt.) Good luck to all in 2005! Happy New Year!

Erica's Delicious Slow Cooker Beef Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2005
I'm giving this a 5 even though it was a little bland. I was ecstatic when I found a Laura's Lean Beef roast at Target! It was only 2 pounds, so I searched for a recipe using a 2 pounder. Definitely use at least double the amount of carrots- I made it as written & wished I had used more. I also would cut down on the onion & maybe use the mushroom soup with either herbs or extra garlic. The cut of meat was totally lean- & fell apart! I took the suggestion of cooking for 7 hours & that was perfect- being that it is such a small roast. Turned out really tender & the amount of gravy was perfect. Thanks Erica!

Yummy Artichoke Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2004
Sorry- I didn't think this was so great. It was too greasy. Maybe it's because I used Hellman's - it is not as creamy as Kraft mayo. People did eat it, I'm just used to the more creamy artichoke dips.

Chocolate Cavity Maker Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2004
I've eaten this type of cake at a church function- the addition of liqueur intrigued me. I used Kahlua- it WAS good- just didn't blow me away for some reason. Everyone did love it at the Christmas gathering- I only made it home with 1 leftover slice. Definitely eat with vanilla ice cream or cool whip! I also dusted the top with powdered sugar- it is an easy way to make a bundt cake look beautiful!

Easy Cinnamon Fudge

I made this a few years ago & loved it! It is a little soft- that's my only gripe. Easy & a great taste! Love cinnamon!

Instant Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2004
These are more like muffins, but who cares??? They are super. And EASY!!! I made 6, could have made 8, & my family griped that I didn't make more. I used 1 cup reg. flour plus 1/2 t. salt, 1/2 t. soda, & 1 1/2 t. baking powder. What a great recipe!!! You can use it when you need a quick meal addition. Everyone always has these ingredients around. THANK YOU!!!

Sugar Cream Pie V

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2004
I won't spoil the rating, but this didn't work for me. Didn't set up like I was hoping & it just wasn't what I was envisioning. Top of pie looked weird, too.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2004
WOWEE!!! Like getting to eat an appetizer as your main course! This is delicious. I didn't have any "garlic pepper", so I used garlic powder & regular pepper- just a little each. The only other change was to bake for 40 minutes. This is low carb, too, if anyone cares!!! And so easy. Thanks so much for submitting!

Melanie's Chili

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2004
We as a family really like this- it is mild, which is good. And easy, & you usually have these ingredients around. I halved the cayenne which is standard, but maybe I didn't need to. Thanks for the recipe!

Whit's Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Dec. 7, 2004
Really good! I used 2 6oz packages of pre-cooked fajita strips- cut up. I also omitted jalapeno. The cream really soaks in- might want to use more. Next time I will also cover the dish- at least part of the time. Got a little crunchy on top.

Absolutely the Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2004
I was really looking forward to these- I bought the hard-to-find Mexican vanilla & everything! Not my idea of the perfect chocolate chip cookie. Almost all cc cookies taste great right out of the oven. These are flat, & I like them "taller." Chilling dough doesn't help either. I guess different people have different ideas of what the perfect chocolate chip cookie should be!

We really liked this- there was none left at the end of the meal! I used 1 leek, 1 can of chicken broth, & 2 t. dried parsley. Easy, quick, & economical! Thanks Ruth!

BUSH'S® Best Chili Cheese Dip

Very yummy! Made for Monday Night Football last night. Very easy too. Used Tostitos Scoops- they work the best! I probably used more cheese than called for- I used the light Mexican blend. Thank you for the recipe!

Basic Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2004
Wonderful. I let the butter & cream cheese sit out for awhile to soften. Then used KitchenAid to blend. Add vanilla, then powdered sugar a little at a time- to avoid lumps! I added some spices to go with the cake: nutneg, cinnamon, & cloves. (I used it with Pumpkin Spice Cake II.) Thanks!

Pecan Pie V

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2004
WOW!!! I am not really a pecan pie person- mainly because I don't care too much for corn syrup. My grandmother wanted a pecan pie for Thanksgiving, so this is what I chose. I'm so glad!!! And it cuts beautifully- no runniness. Thank you so much for submitting!
