About this Cook
I absolutely love to create. It's part of what I was created to do on this earth. So along with the arts, for me it's just part of creativity to cook. Having two little girls and my son on the way, this has presented a challenge in the amount of time and effort I can put into my creating. I still paint, use photography to create, sew, play piano and the guitar, and write my own songs, along with cooking. My oldest is starting preschool and I will have only one at home so maybe some more time will open up some more options, looking forward to this new season!
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to make by far are soups, and sauces.... It has taken me 3 years to perfect my Alfredo sauce, Gourmet baked Mac n' Cheese. Also my raved soups are: Cream of chicken and wild rice, Broccoli Cheddar, Loaded Baked Potato, Chili, and Cream of Potato.
My favorite family cooking traditions
When I was young we always made many different kinds of cookies for the Holidays with my Mother and Grammy. I want to continue this tradition with my children, they just need to grow up a little, I'm glad they are taking their time at that though:)
My cooking triumphs
Chicken Alfredo is my best dish, My Aunt Deb make this incredible Baked Mac n' Cheese, I set out to figure out how to do this without a recipe or input from her and actually got it! Very Proud, I still like hers better though:) I ran a kitchen that served 60- 90 people 2x a day and was able to offer great tasting food for all of them on time and manage the kitchen and staff. We all had a blast!
My cooking tragedies
Probably the worst was when I was cooking for all those people I set out to make homemade pizza. In the winter, the dough didn't rise properly, there weren't enough warm places to store it while it rose, and well long story short people left hungry:(
