About this Cook
I LOVE to try new things. I really don't have a lot of things that I cook over and over again. I get bored easy and I like to cook because I make it fun.
My favorite things to cook
I will try to cook anything! I have to say that right now i am on an Indian food kick. I want to learn all the traditions and flavors so that I can master it. Then I will move on to something else. Korean next I think..
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am from a pretty large family so growing up my mom cooked a lot of food at once and right now I have only a little family to cook for so the hard thing for me is learning to cut production in half or more so I don't end up with more then a weeks worth of food from one meal.
My cooking triumphs
I don't know if i have any triumphs in cooking but i would like to brag about my spice collection! I love to collect spices from all over the world and use them in my food. My favorite part about cooking for other people is when they say "oh wow that is so good what is in this?" then i tell them a spice they have never heard of. So much fun!
My cooking tragedies
i have a few of these but most resent i baked a cake and forgot to add the flour! Who does that? I swear i am NOT THAT new at cooking. Oh well my mother in law thought it was funny (it was her recipe).

Sweet Tamarind Chutney
I REALLY loved this recipe. The tamarind can be found at most Asian food markets and I mix my own garam masala it is very simple to do yourself. I did not use the asafoetida, it is not important. I like that this really is to taste so if you want it hot add more pepper, or sweet add more sugar. This is my third time making it and it is perfect! Mine comes out perfect, if yours is too thin after 15 min you may not have added enough tamarind. You can always just add more.

Indian Tomato Chicken
This was sooo good! My family loved it! I would have to say this was the first Indian dish I have ever made and it turned out perfect. I only made a couple of little changes first i used dried ginger instead of the fresh and also I only made it with 4 thighs instead of 6 i think it worked out perfect because it left the perfect amount of sauce to have with the rice i stacked it on. I WILL make it again! Thanks :)
