German Rouladen

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2013
My grandma was German and I was born in Germany and my Dad had three tours there. My grandma passed a recipe on to the woman who gave birth to me (I wouldn't call her my mother since she never really was) and the woman who gave birth to me called it pigs in a blanket. Instead of rolling the bacon inside she made the Rouladen with the bacon on the outside. Very good recipe, ty for posting it.

Reilly's Chewy Chocolate Chip Raisin Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2012
You can also freeze this cookie dough in batches of two dozen. Your family and friends will be able to enjoy healthy warm cookies anytime! I also make this using dried Cranberries instead of Raisins and Pecans instead of Walnuts (we have Pecan season in San Antonio and I get them by the bag from the Hill Country straight from the farmers).

Plain and Simple Sourdough Bread

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2010
omgosh... this is the best and most simple sourdough roll recipe that I ever made! tysvm Jennifer! Mine, too, was a little bit sticky; but I added about 2 tablespoons of flour and it was perfect (I guess maybe it depends on the altitude and/or humidity level where one lives). I separated the dough into 8 sections, coated my palms with EVOO, and rolled each section into a slightly flattened ball then set them on a non-stick cookie sheet with about 1/2" between each roll. I warmed up my oven (then turned it off) and set them in there with a pastry cloth over them for a little over an hour until they doubled in size; then I preheated my oven to 350 F and baked them for about 15 minutes. Absolutely wonderful!!!
