Pumpkin Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2002
EXCELLENT!! I did however alter this recipe slightly. I used half brown sugar and half white sugar, added a little ginger and a cup of craisins and it turned out wonderful!! Thanks for such a great recipe--perfect for the holiday season.

Five Flavor Pound Cake II

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2002
Excellent, excellent, excellent!! Very moist and buttery--baked up perfectly (1 hr 20 min) and made a nice presentation. Did not need a glaze at all. Very flavorful and still wonderful after 3 days. Will add this one to my permanent file.

Peanut Butter Cake IV

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2002
I chose this particular recipe because of the added oil. I know that peanut butter cake has a tendency to be dry. The oil did produce a moist cake however, this recipe has some problems. First of all, this is a recipe that produces TWO 9 inch round pans. If I had used all that batter for an 8 inch pan I would have had a major mess. Secondly, I added 2 additional tablespoons of peanut butter for more peanut flavor. I also decreased the vanilla and only used 2 teaspoons. The batter was incredibly thin so I also added another 1/2 cup flour. I was pleased with the final product but it certainly took innovation.

Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2002
These rolls taste pretty good however, once rolled out and formed, they did'nt rise very much at all during the hour as the recipe calls for. I baked them at 400 as indicated but the bottoms burned and the inside was not done. Perhaps it was just my oven.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2002
I have never made cinnamon rolls before and these really turned out tasty. The taste of these rolls certainly came very close to that of a real cinnabon. I don't think I let my rise enough though because I expected a fluffier, lighter roll. Using dental floss to cut these worked so well! And watch them as they bake because they will burn easily. I lined my pan with greased wax paper and that seemed to work well. My husband really liked these. Thanks for the recipe!

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2002
Wonderfully moist and elegant cake. Very attractive in both presentation and taste. The glaze is awesome and would work well with other cakes or cookies. If you are a chocolate lover you MUST try this recipe. I guarantee you will be glad you did. Thanks for the recipe Nestle.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2002
THESE COOKIES ARE THE ABSOLUTE BEST COOKIES I HAVE EVER TASTED!!! I bake a lot and these cookies were by far the best. Very chewy and moist but not gooey. Extremely easy to make. I added 1/2 cup sliced almonds instead of the walnuts. The cookies were gone in 1 day!! Thank you for this recipe--it is a definate keeper in my file. I wish I could give it more stars.

Apple Strudel Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2002
WONDERFUL MUFFINS!! I made these the night before my husband went golfing. I let them cool for about an hour on the rack and then placed them in a ziplock bag. They did'nt last long however--his buddies just raved over them and my husband loved them! Very moist and wonderful flavor. Great texture and the struedel topping was not overpowering. I will make these again and again--this recipe has replaced my apple muffin recipe that I have been making for the last 12 years! Thanks for this fabulous recipe!

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2001
This recipe was deceiving because it stated it would make 8 large muffins. I used a muffin tin that held 6 large muffins. This is how many it actually made and I only filled the tins 3/4 full. If I had filled them to the top as the recipe called for it would have only made 4-5 muffins. I cut the topping in half after reading the reviews and it made plenty for the 6 muffins. I baked them at 400 for 25 minutes but the insides were still all batter. I decreased the temp to 350 and baked another 5-10 minutes and I think they just baked way too long. They were dry and tasteless. The crumb topping was very dry. Overall, not very good. I may try this recipe again baking them in a standard muffin tin. Maybe that will help.

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2001
This recipe makes a lot! I halved it and still came out with 66 cookies/cakes. I wouldn't call these cookies--much more like little cakes--very moist--they were sticky the next day. I used sliced almonds instead of walnuts and they tasted really good. The texture was odd, unlike anything I've ever eaten. When I placed them on the cookie sheet, they were in little mounds and I expected them to melt down and flatten as cookies do but they didn't. Whatever shape you place them in on the rack is the shape they will have when baked. The batter would work well in molds or rings to create an autumn treat. Good flavor but I added more cinnamon and nutmeg because I like these flavors. My husband's golf buddies ate them up!

Chicken Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2001
Was time consuming to boil and debone the chicken but other than that it was pretty quick and easy to make. It tasted OK--needed a little more sauce.

Aunt Johnnie's Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2001
This is absolutely the best pound cake I have ever made! Thank you Aunt Johnnie. It rises really high but if you use a professional bundt pan there shouldn't be a problem. I used 1 tsp vanilla and 1 tsp lemon and glazed it with a lemon flavored glaze. Everyone at my husband's work ate it up! It didn't last long. Delicious--very moist and smooth texture. Hardly any crumbs.

Absolutely Best Brownies

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2001
Fabulous brownies! I doubled the batch and took it to our employment family meeting--they were eaten all up quickly! My husband thought they were the best he's ever had--and he's a hard palate to please. Thanks so much for the recipe. Very quick and easy to make too.

One - Two - Three - Four Cake IV

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2001
This is a very moist and flavorful cake. Would work well with any type of frosting--perfect birthday cake basic. The only problem I had was with the amount of batter. The recipe states there is enough batter for six 9 inch round pans so I cut the recipe in half hoping to make a 3 layer cake. The halfed recipe barely made enough batter to make 2 skimpy 9 inch rounds. However the cake is so tasty I can't complain. My son could hardly wait until it was frosted.

Golden Lemon Pound Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2001
This was a very good cake. It was even better the second day because the glaze had a chance to absorb. My 10 yr old thought the crust was a little firm but by the next day the entire cake was moist and even more delicious. I sent half the cake into work with my husband--he only works with 5 others and the cake disappeared within hours! Fabulous recipe--will make again.
