Pork Balls and Sauerkraut

Added garlic powder, salt, ground pepper, paprika, bay leaf and some white wine and a can of tomato soup to the liquid. Wasn't sure how much chicken stock to add (drained kraut over sink... oops). Probably added 500ml. With all the other liquid in there it ended up spectacular. Thanks for mentioning the additions, fellow reviewers! I think the result would not have been quite as good otherwise. Even with the changes I only rate it a 4 - still needs something, just not sure what. Served it over homemade spaetzle.

Calamari in Red Wine and Tomato Sauce

Used two tubes of squid and halved ingredients. Had my own tomato sauce canned and the sauce was delicious!!! Had calamari in on low for about 8 minutes and were still a little tough... will know better next time. 20-30 minutes? You must have turned off the heat or sth. Thanks, though! Great dish!

Zucchini Fritters with Fresh Mozzarella and Tomato

Great recipe - followed it as best as I could (didn't have buttermilk, used 1% with a splash of vinegar... didn't have marjoram, sprinkled a bit of sage in). Made half the recipe and included one potato (didn't want to break open a whole zucchini for 1/2 c) and I don't think that changed the taste a lot. They were delicious! Puffed up a bit, added mozzarella (would've been better if fresh) and some banana legs tomatoes from the garden to garnish. Thanks for a great recipe! You could totally add some different seasonings to spice things up a bit!

These taste like a regular burger... they are yummy, don't get me wrong. But they were not spectacular nor did they taste particularly 'ethnic.'

Egg Foo Yung II

Excellent! Added pork that had been marinated in soy, Chinese rice wine, & green onions. Added some cornstarch just before frying the pork, allowed to cool, then added to the above recipe. Parents LOVED it (and me too)! This is a keeper, for sure!

Oh boy... sorry. These were really oogie. Not my kind of dumpling at all. I will stick to flour dumplings, with a _small_ amount of bread for flavour.
