Roasted Red Pepper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2011
This. Is. Delicious. I skipped the basil, used milk and a few pats of butter instead of the 4 tbsp, and added some onions and parsley, which I cooked with the garlic and red pepper. SO good.

Black Bottom Cupcakes I

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2011
These are delicious (and I mean delicious), but there were a few problems for me: 1. I ended up with more chocolate batter than the cream cheese mixture. I ended up swirling whatever remains of the cream cheese I could scrape from the bowl into the chocolate mixture and baking it. The small cake tasted awesome dusted with powdered sugar. 2. I used silicone cupcake cups, which might have caused the problem, because my cake batter ended up cooking very slowly, so the cream cheese was turning golden brown when the cake finally turned into a brownie-like texture. 3. I used 3 tablespoons of batter and 2 tablespoons of the cream cheese. 4. I used regular chocolate chips. They tasted awesome after refrigerating, there were chunks of chocolate in them (yum!). 5. Use light cream cheese. Each cupcake is a whopping 171 calories. There's no taste difference. Everyone loved these cupcakes. I couldn't stop eating them either. Time to hit the gym.

Buttercream Icing

Reviewed: Jun. 11, 2011
This is a great recipe- except for the sweetness. I used all butter, and other than that, I made it according to the directions, and once I tasted the icing, it was far too sweet. I ended up adding a lot more butter and milk until it was a little less sweeter. Add more milk for a fluffier mixture. I added a vanilla bean to my icing. It was great on my Simple White Cake (also from this site). I would suggest cutting the sugar down by 1 or 2 cups, and using all butter.

Half and Halfs

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
These were delicious! I found the double-chocolate dough to be not dark enough, so I added some melted chocolate chips until it turned into the color I wanted.

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2010
This is delicious. I made this twice so far, and the first time, I followed the recipe exactly. It was delicious, worth the 5 stars, but the second time, I added a tablespoon of brown sugar and 2 tablespoons of cold water (with 1/4 teaspoon of cornstarch) for more syrup. I also added a teaspoon of vanilla. So good over lightly buttered toast!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2010
I used vanilla sugar, brown sugar and honey instead of the white sugar. It really improved the flavor.
