Broccoli Crunch Salad

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2014
I made a couple personal preference changes. I don't like raw onions so I left them out. I used dried cranberries and just a few Splenda packets. I also don't cook bacon (ewe) so I used half a bottle of Hormel real bacon bits. I have made it several times. I love the combinations of flavors and textures.

Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
I make this a few times a year. I follow the recipe exactly, but I rarely have fresh herbs so I use dried. It is my go to soup! I forgot once to add the pasta and now I don't even miss it! Sometimes I add potatoes or different veggies. It's always great. It's really a no-fail recipe.

Potato Arugula Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2014
I had a lot of leftover arugula I wanted to use. I followed the recipe exactly and the only thing I changed the second time was to decrease the olive oil a bit. I also followed another reviewers advice and mixed it while the potatoes were still warm so the arugula wilted just a bit. Serve room temperature. Excellent! Will continue to make.

Slow Cooker Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2013
Seriously, fantastic recipe. I followed the recipe exactly...except I added an extra thigh and next time I will add a total of 6 thighs. Also, I didn't have cardamom pods. This turned out perfect. Restaurant quality!! The flavors were really rich and fragrant, I can't say enough good things about this. My new favorite!

Banana Oatmeal Bread

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
Excellent! I used half quick and half regular oats. Next time I will not use quick at all, I like the texture of regular oats best. I added mini chocolate chips. Really good flavor and texture!! It makes a large loaf and I probably over cooked it just a bit to make sure the center was done. I will cut the cooking time next time by a few minutes for sure next time.

Restaurant-Style Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2012
I made this with ground turkey sausage because it is what I had on hand (for my typical sausage and kale dinner) I wouldn't change a thing, this recipe was flavorful and rich but not heavy at all. Everyone loved it, even my daughter who doesn't like kale.

Simple Scones

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2011
These are my 'go to' scones. I have tried a ton of scone recipes and these are great. I always change it up and add blueberries, a cinnamon crumb topping, mini choc. chips, whatever the mood. I like to leave the dough as a circle and cut the scones, just pulling them apart slightly, they cook more evenly. I also found good results when I wanted fresh scones in the morning without getting up much earlier, I made them the night before and baked them in the am. They actually cooked a little more evenly. I make this recipe almost every weekend. It's great!!

Beef Stroganoff III

Reviewed: Jul. 4, 2011
I really used this recipe for the sauce as I had some steak I wanted to use. I cut the cooked steak into thin strips and started there. I loved the additional tang the mustard gave it. I didn't have any white wine so I used chicken broth at the end. It was a little thick, it could have used more beef broth. I will make again, excellent flavor.

Orange Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2011
I didn't make any changes to the recipe and they turned out great. I made half the batch in a mini muffin pan and the other half regular size. I did alter the cooking degree and time to 350; 10 minutes for the minis and about 13 for the regular. I also made a little orange glaze which I recommend if you want more orange flavor. I used p. sugar, oj and zest. Will make again!

Vanilla Cupcake

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
I wanted a basic cupcake recipe my 12 year old could make and this one seemed to fit the bill. I read the reviews, the batter was really thick so she added about 1/2 cup of milk. The result was not like a fluffy cupcake but a much more dense cupcake, I agree with the reviewer who said they tasted like sugar cookies, they totally did. Which I thought was really good. Different, but good. They were solid, but not hard, which made them easier for my 12 year old to frost.

These are my family's favorite cookies. We make them all the time, sometimes I add coconut. I like the texture better when we freeze them.

Carrot Cheesecake Muffins

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2010
These were fabulous, fresh. Since they had cream cheese in them I refrigerated them and they became quite dry. But I made them again for brunch guests and they were perfect. I didn't do a thing to the recipe.

Basic Crepes

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
I make this all the time, it's quick and easy. I add a touch of vanilla as we always make sweet crepes. I also found no difference in the final product if I didn't mix the eggs and flour together first or mixed the flour with all the wet ingredients. Mixing the flour with the eggs made it difficult to get all the lumps out. Fabulous quick and easy recipe.
