About this Cook
I am a bit of a crazy American living in Bristol, England. I love baking! I bake most weekends and take my goodies into work with me to share! I adore cakes that are moist and succulent. English dry cakes do nothing for me! I am also a cat addict. I dont mind cooking main meals, I enjoy making fresh fajitas, curries, and casseroles.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make banana bread and cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother doesnt know how to cook and when I left home, my fathers good-bye was the following, 'What are we going to do now that the cook has left?' My mothers idea of cooking is microwaving, I remember one Thanksgiving many many many years ago that my mother had to take all the bones out a whole turkey and get out a rubber mallet in order to fit the turkey in the microwave! Seriously!
My cooking triumphs
Dutch foods and cakes! Almost always turn out VERY well.
My cooking tragedies
They dont happen often, thankfully, but they are a true tragedy when they do happen!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf
the basic recipe is fine, however, the ketchup and brown sugar need to be put on the top not the bottom. I added a stalk of diced celery, 1 diced beef tomato, 1 shredded carrot, and half of a red pepper, diced to the meat mixture. I also lined my bread tin with bacon and then top off with the meatloaf mixture and then top with the ketchup and brown sugar and then more bacon!

Black Magic Cake
Whenever I need a cake chocolate cake, this is always my go to recipe!!! No changes need, fantastic recipe! The cake doesnt taste of coffee, the coffee simply intensifies the chocolate! Amazing! I always cover with a butter cream icing and call it done!!
