Blueberry Buckle

The results were lovely but while mixing the ingredients I thought I must've made a mistake - it was such thick sticky dough! I could barely get the berries mixed in. I actually made the dough twice, convinced I mis-measured something first time around (I hadn't). It came out fine but I will trust other reviewers and decrease the flour amount a bit next time (it was a tad too dense). Might even add a few more berries.

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

This was tonight's dinner and it was a big hit! I threw in a couple of beef bouillon cubes for a flavor boost. About two hours before the meat was done I put in carrots, celery and halved baby potatoes. It made a terrific one-dish meal - no fussing with cooking sides. My "meat-and-potatoes" Dad loved it and we have plenty of leftovers to enjoy tomorrow!

Slow Cooker Pineapple Pork Roast

This was only my second time using the slow cooker and this recipe was *GREAT*. I couldn't find a roast that was exactly 3 pounds so I used two >2 pound roasts. I also used a can of whole cranberry sauce, and during the last fifteen minutes I added in a couple of tablespoons of brown sugar and a splash of soy sauce. I think those final touches really helped boost the flavor. I attempted to remove the meat 20 minutes before it was done to slice it up a little but it was already so tender it was falling apart. Delicious! And I can totally understand why folks use leftovers with some BBQ sauce for sandwiches. My folks went to my sister's for dinner tonight but I'm going to make them taste this when they get back! :)

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

I'm a complete amateur and this was the very first recipe I tried in my very first slow cooker. A TOTAL HIT! I made it for my parent and myself so there was enough for two nights of delight. Everyone wiped their plates clean and I was so thrilled with how easy it was. I just made some mashed potatoes and broccoli for the sides and it was perfect. I was especially happy that my Mom ate everything - she has trouble swallowing these days but the meat was so tender it was easy for her. I feel like I'm off to a wonderful start with the slow cooker now... thanks!
