Beth's Scalloped Cabbage

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2013
Cabbage is so good for you that I am always on the lookout for new ways to cook it. This is kind of bland as written. Do not forget to add at least one onion-two would be better. Needs more pepper and salt to give it more flavor. Personally-I dont think it needs the cheese because it kind of takes away from the cabbage flavor but I like cabbage so that being said, This would be a GREAT starter for someone to does not like or has never tried cabbage. Boiling the cabbage for 10 minutes-makes it kind of limp. Also it garlic would be great to add a little flavor to this also. It is not the most pretty dish-kind of flat looking but next time i am going to shread a little carrot and dice up some celery to add color and bring more flavor to it. It is a good base recipe. You could do a lot with it.

Roasted Garlic Flat Iron Steak

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2012
I used exact amounts and used only two flat iron steaks. First off 1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil was to much oil to make a paste--for me. I personally think it could have used more garlic due to the fact it did not really have much flavor-i only tasted a "HINT" of garlic. Not what I was expecting since i only used two steaks and 15 cloves (and cloves were not small). Husband said he would have liked it better with just flour, salt, pepper breading. I do like the fact that olive oil was used making it more healthier. I "might" make it again with some adjustments. Cutting the olive oil in the paste an adding some fresh crushed garlic to the paste to give it more of a garlic flavor. I think by roasting the garlic it does not have that "zing" of a garlic flavor I was looking forward to.

Apple-Cranberry Crisp

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
PERFECT--if you like cranberries. Not to sweet. It took longer to peel and slice apples than anything else--quite easy to make. It did not last too long-it was good!!

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
Just like muffin tops-not really a "cookie". I did add a bit more banana -very glad I did-otherwise would not have enough banana flavor. These are not TOO SWEET-which is kind of nice. Overall--A nice treat.

Cottage Cheese Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
My hubby did NOT like at all and to me it had no flavor. It did LOOK like meatloaf but it really came up short in the taste department. I also made it just as it was written.

Baked French Fries I

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Need to add a little salt. This is a good base mix. You can add what you want and take away what you dont. Hubby and I both enjoyed these. I also used it on some cut up chicken before I fried them. I did add a little cayenne--otherwise made it exactly like this recipe. It was good!

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2010
Loved this! This can be done with any veggie and comes out great. I have two adults in my family who HATE and will NOT eat Brussels for ANY reason ) --both tasted these and said that "if i have to eat this--this is the best way to fix them". So even if you hate Brussels--give this one a try. Who knows you might change your mind! I added crushed garlic and heated it with oil -so the flavors would mix. I also used frozen sprouts (can't seem to find fresh).
