About this Cook
I don't cook...seriously, I DON'T cook. If a box contains all the ingredients and the directions, I have about a 50/50 chance. I just don't have that gene. Luckily for me, my husband does. He can take three things out of the cabinet at random and they turn into something fantastic. Me, I clean a mean kitchen after the fact and it's better for everyone that way!
My favorite things to cook
Cheesecake, cookies, brownies, parfaits, smoothies..in short, dessert. That is where I shine, especially with cheesecake. If you can imagine it, I can make it into a delicious cheesecake: plain, death by chocolate, strawberry, cherry, pumpkin, apple pie cheesecake torte, cookies and cream, even jalapeno!
My cooking triumphs
I make a good lasagna and chicken and dumpling soup (with a recipe I found here - thanks!)
My cooking tragedies
Too many to list. Here is a short summary: * tuna noodle casserole that ended up the size, shape and consistency of a 10 lb bowling ball from which we had to hack pieces off with a knife (that is before we decided that eating it would be akin to suicide and threw it out) * setting the oven on fire...multiple times * burnt everthing * raw everything else * most recently I blew up a Pyrex dish filled with newly cooked cornbread sending shards of glass across two rooms and into the chili that I had made for dinner. A sure sign that whatever higher powers there may be do not want me to cook.

Chicken and Dumplings III
Delicious and incredibly easy. I am by no means a cook and even I was able to use the basic recipe and suggestions and come up with a meal my 5 year old and 20 month old and my husband all ate. I used one can of cream of potato and one of cream of celery, added sauteed onions and one diced yellow potato plus some thinly sliced carrots and a cup of whole milk to make it more creamy. Some garlic to top it off because everything is better with a little garlic! Left-overs were thicker and almost like a loaded baked potato. Yum!
