Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2014
This recipe is delicious. Since I made the recipe for two I cut everything in half (only used 3/4 of one block of a low-fat cream cheese). My hubby loved it too.

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2012
I had a serious sweet tooth one night, but all I had was a lg granny apple. I found this recipes and fortunately I had all the ingredients. I followed the recipe exactly. I'm glad I did, because it was delicious and satisfied my sweet tooth. I will definitely make it again when the craving hits!

Tomato and Pepper Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2009
It's a good recipe. My husband and I eat it the first night "as is" with some extra's items (i.e.red onions, feta) based on previous comments. The next evening we added some cooked whole-grain pasta which actually turn it into a low calorie entree vs a side dish.

Creamy Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2008
I've tried many many banana puddings in my lifetime and I have to say that this one ABSOLUTELY the best! It was a big hit at our Christmas dinner this year. I did not change any thing in the recipe it is perfect the way it is. If you want to impress your friends and loved ones with a great dessert...this recipe will do the trick!

Easy Slow Cooker Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
Lesson learned never try a recipe for the first time for a work potluck... I used a 8lb uncooked bone-in ham and cooked it 8 hours while I was asleep. I thought I was going to awake the next morning to a cooked ham ready to slice and serve at the potluck. I admit the ham was flavorful but it just fell apart when I tried to slice it. It was not presentable at all. So I went to plan B and used the now shredded ham in another family favorite recipe to serve at potluck. I was late to work but I did have a dish to pass. I'll keep searching for a recipe to use to cook a ham :-(

Broccoli Cheese Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2008
This recipe is absolutely delicious...I incorparted some of the previous tips. I doubled the broccoli, omited the water and used a cup of the broth to mix with the cornstarch, I used fresh garlic instead of garlic powder and I added pepper. Finally to make it more hearty I added diced potatoes and crumbled bacon. This recipe will be a staple in my house. We loved it!

Oh-So-Good Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2008
This was an easy AND delicious recipe. I read some of the previous reviews and made the following modifications: -Coated 2 chicken breast in taco seasoning and baked. -Added black beans -Sauted mushrooms with onions & minced garlic. -Crushed chips on top & add Chedder cheese The next time - because there will be a next time - I will omit the mushrooms, they're really not necessary. Again, Great Dish!

Classic Candied Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2007
I've been looking for a basic recipe for candied yams for sometime. My search is now over! I boiled the potatoes until they were slightly tender. After they cooled, I peeled & cut them in to cubes. I then added all of the other ingredents, plus some vanilla, to a small pan until well blended; however, I cut the butter & sugar almost in half. Next, I placed the cubed potatoes and the sauce in a crockpot with a little cinnamon & nutmeg. When the potatoes were soft (not mushy) I added a handful of marshmellows. After about 10 minutes, I transferred the candied yams to a baking dish, topped the yams with more marshmellows, and broiled until the marshmellows were brown (this is why I cut back on the sugar b/c of the added marshmellows). I served the Candied Yams for Christmas dinner and my entire family LOVED them. My mom even said they were as good as hers when she used to make them for holiday dinners - now that's a compliment.

Simply Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2007
I have always been intimidated by Lasagna recipes. However, after watching the video that came with this recipe, I gain enough confidence to try it. Wow - it turned out great! My husband is not a big leftover eater, but he loved it so much he ate it for dinner, lunch & dinner again the next day. The only thing I would do differently is make more of the cheese mixture. Try this recipe if you want to impress your love ones!

Yes, they're creamy; however, they lack in taste. I'm going to keep searching for a better recipe.

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2007
My husband and I have been looking for a bread pudding recipe since we tried it for the first time on a cruise in January. Wow...this recipe is very, very easy and more importantly, it taste GREAT. We were out of raisins and regular bread, so we used what we had, which was cinnamon raisin bagels and added a little brown sugar. We served it warm topped with cool-whip. We will definitely make this dish again!!!!

Gravy Baked Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2002
They were realllllly good. I seasoned them with black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, & minced garlic and set them in the fridge from about 6 hours. Later, I cooked them on the stove top as directed with onions and then baked them for 45 minutes. I served them with rice and steamed broccoli. The next time, and there will be a next time, I plan to use 2 cans of soup.

Easy Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2002
I was traveling to Toronto summer of 2001 and stop at Tim Horton's and tried a Oatmeal muffin. Unfortunately, the Tim Horton's in Michigan do not sell Oatmeal muffins. I was extremely please when I discovered this recipe. It was okay, but it was not as good as Tim Horton's version. I will keep looking.

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2001
This is a very easy & tasty recipe. I'm not able to speak on it fat burning capabilities, but it a nice complement to a meal. My very picky 8 yr. son loved it. He requested it for his school snack. It's just me and my son so I cut the recipe in 1/2 and it still made plenty.

Apple Yam Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2001
This was my first attempt at cooking yams, therefore I searched the internet for a suitable recipe. This one caught my eye. The casserole was amazingly easy to make and with the helpful hints of previous reviews they were delicious. My boyfriend was skeptical at first, but he really enjoyed them. I will definitely make this dish again!!!!
