Excellent spice combination! I make enough to cover all sides of the meat (usually a bit more than stated here) and omit the cinnamon. When it's done, I slice up onions and lay them out in a roasting pan, then layer the carnitas on top and bake at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes. Thanks for the idea, naples34102. The carnitas come out nice and crispy and the onions absorb all the juices and are a great add-on for tacos or taquitos. This is my favorite slow-cooker recipe and fantastic for company!
