Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: May 28, 2013
I have yet to use this marinade on the grill, but I have done as another reviewer recommended and cooked the salmon in a foil packet in the oven at 425 for 15 minutes. I scale the recipe down to one serving and marinate the filet in a ziplock baggie. Quick, easy and delicious meal for one!

Best Baked French Fries

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2013
I've made a similar recipe, but the potatoes always came out too soggy. This recipe produced crisp on the outside, soft on the inside baked fries that everyone loved! It has to be the sugar on the potatoes, so don't skip that step. My daughter says we should never do the frozen potatoes again. I used russet potatoes, you could probably use whatever you have on hand and it would turn out lovely. This is a definite keeper for me.

Classic Goulash

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2011
This was my first time making Goulash, and it turned out amazing. I took the advice of other reviews and added two medium bell peppers. I also added a bag of corn. I was worried about it coming out too watery for my households taste so I reduced the water to two cups, which was perfect for us! Will definitely make again. This did make a huge amount and we've been giving leftovers away, will definitely cut the recipe in half next time.

Mom's Country Gravy

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
This was good, next time I will use pan drippings from bacon or sausage, because the flavor was not quite right, I ended up adding more salt and pepper to cover up the vegetable oil flavor. However it wasn't lumpy, and it wasn't too thick either, so I think with a little bit of tweaking this could be an excellent white gravy recipe.

Alfredo Mostaccioli

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
I made this last, although I did add a bunch of stuff. I added one chopped zuchinni, a handful of shredded carrots, about 1/2 a pound of chopped asparagus, and a pound of baked chopped chicken. I also used farafelle pasta. It turned out absolutely wonderful. It is nice enough to serve for guests and easy enough to make on a regular basis. Great sauce recipe!

Garlic Cheese Flatbread

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2007
Excellent bread, personally I think don't skip the butter step, it makes the bread so yummy (although not very healthy). I use whatever cheese I have on hand for the top, it always comes out great!

Pizza Dough III

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2007
This was really good homemade dough. My 6 y.o. loved it so much she asked if we could just have the dough next time w/o the pizza toppings. I think it would make great breadsticks. It was a bit too soft for me, which is why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars.

Balsamic Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: May 11, 2007
This didn't really do it for me. It wasn't horrible, but I think the nutmeg gave it a too sweet taste. I don't think I'll make this again, everyone was very neutral after tasting it.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2006
This fudge turned out wonderfully! I followed the recipie exactly. My mom always used to tell me that the key to great fudge is to stir it from the second you put it on the heat until you have added the choclate and nuts. I was especially careful to do that with this recipie to avoid the marshmallow cream from burning. I also started out on low and turned the stove up to medium in small increments. It set nicely after two hours and had a lovely, rich flavor. I will be throwing out my old recipie and replacing it with this one.

Barbeque Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
This turned out wonderful! I followed it nearly exactly except I added a whole 18 oz. bottle of barbecue sauce since some other reviews said it was a little dry with just the 1/2 cup. When I did the cornbread mix I used two packages then ended up making the third cause two didn't seem to be enough. Three was perfect. It had a nice thick layer of cornbread on top. I will definitely be making this again.

Baked Ziti II

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
I thought this turned out quite nicely. I followed the recipie almost exactly except that I only added half of the mozzerella to the ricotta mixture then used the rest on the top of the sauce. I also added some italian seasoning and garlic powder to the ricotta mixture. Next time I make this I will use my own marinara sauce because I think it is more flavorful than jarred marinara.

Greek Chicken Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2006
This was delicious!! I followed the recipie exactly, only adding some sliced black olives. I will try kalamata next time as some of the other reviews suggest. My very picky mom, who normally doesn't like pasta loved this. I will definitely make again!!

Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 20, 2006
This was awesome, I used only three breast halves and cut everything in half except the tomatoes. Turned out wonderfully!! The spices were perfect. If you don't like balsamic vinegar though I wouldn't reccommend this recipie.

Stir-Fried Kale and Broccoli Florets

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2005
This was pretty good. I've never used kale in cooking before so it was a new taste for me. Definitely make sure that you have all the veggies chopped before you begin cooking because everything cooks quickly. I'm definitely going to make this again.

Mom's Stovetop Pork Ribs

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2005
Yummy!! This was a hit at my house. I used 2 lbs. of bone-in country style pork ribs and just cut the recipie exactly in half. It was perfect. If the water takes too long to boil down turn the heat up.
