Cracked Sugar Cookies I
So, I just picked myself up off of the floor after making and trying these cookies, and I thought I would join the masses in stating the obvious (to those that have done as I have, and made these angelic morsels of baked good bliss): Best. Sugar. Cookie. Ever. Seriously. Just stop looking. THIS is the recipe you want, and WILL save above all others. My initial attempt at this recipe DID have the following alterations. I found that after adding the sifted (which I recommend, even though its not stated) ingredients in about three batches, the dough was a bit crumbly, so I added aprox. 4 tablespoons of half and half (first dairy I grabbed from my fridge) and it came together gorgeously. I also chose to add 1c. of butterscotch morsels. HEAVENLY. This being said, I think if I had added the dry ingredients a bit more patiently, and let the Kitchen-aid help the flour hydrate, I would not have needed the extra dairy. I shall report back with my findings next time I make these, which I promise you - will be VERY, very VERY soon! And do try them normally, but venture into the world of Butterscotch....they add something magical, I am quite sure if it. ^_^
