Excellent cookies, definitely recommend with a few changes. Substituted orange juice for the water, and 1/2 cup butter and 1/4 cup butter flavored shortening for the margarine. Cooked only 7 minutes, and let rest 5 (the first batch I cooked 8-9 and they were great straight out of the oven, but lost some of their chewiness after they cooled). Also just as a note, people commented that they tasted more like a chewy mix between sugar cookies and ginger snaps... if you like a more spicy cookie, double the spice like others suggested. Even so, delicious!
