Hello !
This is me.
About this Cook
Hello. I'm Kathy and I live in NE Ohio, USA very close to Lake Erie. Cleveland has a world class orchestra, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, an excellent art museum, the West Side Market and the Cleveland Institute of Art among many other things. It's a great place to live.
My favorite things to cook
Mostly vegetarian. I love cooking Indian and Thai recipes. I enjoy canning and preserving. I can't bake but when I do... it will be a very simple and foolproof recipe. :o) I like to try unusual recipes with ingredients I've never combined before like baked bean bundt cake or dill pickle stuffing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Of all the things I've cooked, my kids love my kielbasi & beans, and stuffed peppers. Their father is Sicilian, so I learned to make a lasagna that even he liked (He should, I got the recipe from his mother)!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I tried making Panir Cheese (or paneer) for Palak Panir, it turned out perfectly! Once I realized how easy and fast it was to make, I make panir frequently now.
My cooking tragedies
When I was newly married, I made some soup and thought it needed some corn in it. So I put in a handful of popping corn thinking they would soften (well, why not?). But they didn't, and believe it or not, several kernels were actually half popped! And this was for company. Decades later I still hear about it.

Grandmother's Famous Cranberry Bread
This is excellent. I've made this twice; once as written and once adding toasted walnuts instead of raisins. Both were delicious. I also increased the cranberries to 2 cups and did not chop them. This is such a pretty bread when cut. Thanks for posting this lovely recipe.

Cauliflower Cheese Pie
This was so good. The only change I made was I used fresh herbs instead of dried. And I used an orange cauliflower. This is such a pretty dish. It takes a little prep work, but the next one will be quicker. Great recipe!
