Gel's Green Beans and Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2003
This was fine. My husband liked it more than I did, I think. I used almost 2 lbs of beef so I needed more soy sauce and honey for some extra sauce. I think I may try adding some other veggies - like snap peas. Easy and different. I will probably make this again at some point.

Oven Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2003
My husband and I thought these turned out dry and not very flavorful. I probably will not make these again as they didn't turn out very well for me.

This was fantastic. We loved it. I didn't have carrots so I skipped that part. Great flavor.

Blonde Brownies III

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2003
They tasted great but I baked them a little too long so they got hard. I used butterscotch chips this time. I think I will used white chips next time and see which one I like best.

Wonderful. A great variation from plain green beans. Sometimes I add a bit of soy sauce to varry the flavor.

American Shepherd's Pie

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2003
When I've made this before, I saute ground beef, onion and garlic together then add a package of frozen peas and carrots and a jar of beef gravy along with the spices. Then I add mashed potatoes with chedder mixed into them to the top and bake. After baking I add some more cheese on top of the potatoes.

Baked Sesame Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
Flavor was fine, but the chicken was very dry. I kept adding liquid during cooking and the chicken was still dry. I'm not sure that I will try this again.

Quick Brownbag Burritos

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
It was alright. My husband and I didn't enjoy the black bean flavor so much. We found it too strong. Not the flavor we are used to. It was quick and easy though, so we may try using refried beans and hope for results that we like better.

Beef Enchiladas II

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2003
Good and pretty quick, but I changed several things when I made it. I added a packet of taco seasoning while sauting the beef. As I cooked the beef, I make up a box of Meican rice. I like the flavor of meat, rice and cheese all mixed together. I like using a can of enchilada sauce instead of the powder stuff.

Bow Ties with Sausage, Tomatoes and Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2003
My husband loved this. Next time I will drain the meat - it was a little greasy. I want to add a bit of green pepper for some more color next time. It has a nice little kick to it. I also added some parmesean cheese to it. Great and easy. I will make this often.

Six Can Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2002
Good and easy. I added some velveeta and salsa as was suggested. That was a great addition. I can't imagine this soup without some good cheesy flavor. I also added some red pepper and cayenne pepper. It was so quick to make. If I have more time the next time around I will saute and season some chicken to add instead of using canned. Bake some biscuits and you have a great meal!

Good potatoes. I added some extra butter. I think that I will add milk next time too. They get a little dry after baking. Very good.

Magical Mint Kiss Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2002
I don't think I will ever make this again. I was so excited to make these - they sounded so wonderful. The dough was so dry (I used 1 1/2 cups flour) that I couldn't get it to stick to the kisses. If you make this add some more liquid - don't just lessen the flour. Add an egg or milk or something cause you're going to need the moisture. Difficult and frustrating to work with and not that fabulous tasting because of the cookies being so dry. I'm still disappointed.

Very good and quick. A great way to make a can of green beans different. I made this for thanksgiving. My brother-in-law was still raving about it days later.

A great base recipe. I think it needs a little more flavor and spice. Also more crushed tomatoes. Will make this again with some tweaking.

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2002
Wonderful. I don't think I boiled it enough though because not all of the sugar melted. I was afraid I would scorch it. Next time I'll try to be a bit more brave in boiling it.
