Honey Butter

Reviewed: Sep. 1, 2004
The taste was really good at first - just like the yummy honey butter I used to get at Ruby Tuesday's. When I refrigerated it, though, it seperated. It suddenly occured to me that I used margarine and not butter. Guess I wasn't really paying attention. Oops. I'll have to make this agian.

Texas Chicken Quesadillas

Reviewed: Aug. 4, 2004
My husband and I enjoyed this. I cut the chicken up in very small pieces and cut the onion a bit smaller too. I think it is easier to handle when the pieces are smaller. I like the sweet BBQ taste mixed in with the cheese. Yum. I thought it was easier to cook this on a griddle for a minute than in the oven. It's easier to watch them an dmake sure they don't go too long.

Fabulous Zucchini Grinders

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2004
These are not bad. I think we would have liked them more if there was something more in them...like some more veggies or some meat. I loved the red pepper in these. I will probably make these again sometime in the future when we something different.

Artichoke Tuna Toss

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2004
This was better when I finally found the right boxes of pasta (Lipton brand). My regular grocery store is limited in what they offer. Anyway, I didn't add quite the whole package of peas - I think it is too much with all of them. I used red wine vinegar but I think next time I'll leave it out. I may use white wine instead. I thought the flavor was a little bland and tried a bunch of things to add some flavor. I ended up liking some Old Bay seasoning the best. I would probably use 1/2 teaspoon for the whole recipe. I'll make this again just because it's easy and quick.

Fisherman's Quick Fish

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2004
My fish was pretty thick and I ended up having to cook it almost 30 min. That dried out the fish quite a bit. Next time I will slice the fish thinner so that I don't have to cook it for so long and dry it out. I think I will like the flavor more if it was moist. I might drizzle some melted butter over top of it next time.

Shrimp and Asparagus

Reviewed: May 24, 2004
I used angel hair pasta instead of egg noodles and only 1/2 cup of butter. I did what one reviewer suggested and sauted the asparagus in olive oil then set aside until I had sauted the shrimp a few minutes. I used the juice of one lemon. To spice up the flavor a bit, I added red pepper flakes and a bunch of Old Bay seasoning. It would have been a bit bland without the red pepper/Old Bay. My husband and I both enjoyed it with these changes. It was very good reheated the next day as well.

Brisket with BBQ Sauce

Reviewed: May 24, 2004
Wow. This was fantastic. My husband and I loved it. I used garlic & onion powders like other suggested. My piece of brisket was 3 lbs - I cooked it 3 hours, took out of the oven and let it cool for 30-45 min, sliced it and covered with sauce, and then baked for another 45 min. It was so tender and tasty. The BBQ sauce was wonderful and I made a little extra for dipping.

Honey Pork with Peppers

Reviewed: May 21, 2004
I was pleasently suprised by this dish. I was leary about using the gravy mix but it was fine. The flavor of the sauce turned out good. I might add a bit of red pepper paste to it next time. I added water chestnuts and might add some shredded carrot. I cooked my veggies until just tender. I wouldn't want them to be too mushy in this dish. It's nice to have a bit of chrunch in them since they are a highlight of the dish. This was very good and I'll be making it again.

Easy Teriyaki Chops

Reviewed: May 18, 2004
I marinated this all day and the pork turned out very tender. It was very tasty. Next time I will probably reserve a little of the sauce to use after it's cooked.

Moroccan Chicken with Olives

Reviewed: May 17, 2004
This was good. I used a bit more lemon juice than was called for and less cilantro (I don't like strong cilantro flavors). We liked this quite a bit. It was very different. The juice was very good over rice.

Jalapeno Chicken

Reviewed: May 14, 2004
I was uncertain about the combination on ingrediants but this turned out very good. I used half of the cinnamon called for. I thought it was the right amount. I also used more jalapeno pepper because my husband loves it.

Chicken Jambalaya I

Reviewed: May 14, 2004
The rice took forever to cook. I may go against all that is in me and use minute rice next time. I used sausage instead of chicken. My husband loves it.

Classic Fish and Chips

Reviewed: May 14, 2004
This was good. Next time I think I will add a little spiciness to the batter. I think I will also make onion rings to go with it.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2004
This was very tasty. I used 1/2 mayo and will probably try adding some sour cream next time. I used way more than a pinch of garlic pepper - yum. I added a few splashes of lemon juice and some mushrooms and I cut up each chicken breast into four pieces. Served over rice. My husband and I loved it. I will make this again!

Old Bay® Shrimp Fest

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2004
I made this for the second time this weekend and it was even better. Here are my changes/additions: 3/4 cup Old Bay, 2 bottles of beer, 3 quarts water, about 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, 1 lemon cut in half, a bunch of crushed garlic. Next time I will probably use 3 large onions and might use new potatoes. If you want to add more seafood, you can always reduce the potatoes and corn - they take up a lot of room. Wonderful!

This was very good. I made it for Easter lunch and everyone loved it. I put some artichokes in it too. I used all of the spinach like others suggested. Wonderful.

Peanut Butter Noodles

This is great. I add chicken, broccoli, shredded carrot and bean sprouts. I added some more honey and used dark soy sauce. I loved the chili paste in this! I might use some coconut milk in this next time I make it.

Burrito Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2004
I didn't make a full batch of this (it's just me and my husband). I used 1lb beef, cut out the can of chilies, 1/2 of the taco sauce, and 1 can of beans. I did, however, use more cheese. I added some chili pepper, cumin, and hot sauce to the meat. Like some other reviewers suggested, I did not put the beans in with the meat mixture. I spread the beans on the tortillas and layered that way. This turned out great. We loved it.

Crab Dip

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2004
This was good. I added a little more garlic (can you have too much?) and some parmesean cheese. After tasting it I decided to add some Old Bay seasoning and that really made it suit our taste buds. Yum.
