Jamie's Minestrone

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
This is definitely better when it's had a chance to sit for a while. I only used a small can of tomato sauce, a few tablespoons of tomato paste and a can of diced tomatoes. I used all chicken broth - no water. I added a bit of crushed red pepper and some fresh thyme. Used ditalini pasta because I like the way it holds up in soups. This makes a ton of soup. Loved it. I'll make this again for sure.

Easy, Cheesy Tortellini Bake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
This was good and easy. I'm not a bit fan of alfredo sauce, but I tried using most of the jar and I really liked it. The sauce turned out creamy, cheesy and tomato-y. Very nice. I added a bit of crushed red pepper and I will probably add more next time because it turned out a bit too sweet for me. Good overall.

Super Sausage Gravy

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2007
Good. I thought it was missing something compared with what I get when I eat out. I might add a little butter next time and maybe try some different herbs.

Good flavor but it turned out a little dry and crumbly for me.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
Good flavor. The dough was kind of hard to work with. Had to keep the dough I wasn't using in fridge to keep cold while making cookies to make it more workable.

Sugar Cookie Icing

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
Good taste. I had to let the first layer harden up before doing any more decorating or the colors blended too much. It takes a while to harden.

Fuzzy's Chipotle Flank Steak

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
I made the mistake of making this indoors - because it was winter time. The fumes from the chipotles was horrible! The flavor was ok, but not very deep or rich.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Yummy! I used 1/2 fresh cranberries and 1/2 dried cranberries. I made a glaze of orange juice and powdered sugar and poured over the top while it was still warm.

Ultimate Spicy Spud Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
We loved this! I only used 1 tsp of cayenne but I will use a little more next time. I used all chicken broth - no water. Used a couple tablespoons butter and the end. Wonderful flavor. I added one box of chopped spinach to this. Yummy!

Southwest Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2006
This was fine. I coated chicken cutlets with taco seasoning before cooking them. I put in a bunch of cumin, some cayenne and chili powder. Served over brown rice with lime juice and butter like someone else suggested. We put cheese on it along with sour cream. Pretty good overall. It would be good in a tortilla.

Asian Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
This has great flavor and I will certainly make it again. It smelled so good while marinating - it was torture to have to wait to eat. The recipe calls for WAY to much cornstach though. Be careful when adding it - a little at a time is the best way to go.

Baked Pork Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2006
This was tasty. I need to find better wrappers but the filling is great. I used coleslaw mix instead of cabbage and carrots to cut down on the prep time. I didn't use any cilantro - don't really care for that flavor. I just used plain water to seal the wrappers. I did flip the spring rolls half way through baking and put it on broil for a short time at the end. Warmed the leftovers up in our toaster oven. Yum!

So easy and fantastic! I can't believe three ingredients can make up such a yummy dip. I made it the night before as some reviewer suggested. I used hot sausage and hot rotel w/ chilies. Everyone loved it and I will absolutely make it again.

Beefy Baked Ravioli

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2006
A good basic recipe. I added garlic, crushed red pepper, oregano, and basil to the sauce. This makes a lot for just me and my DH, so I'm going to try freezing some of the leftovers. Very easy and fairly quick. Will make again.

Most people enjoyed this different salad. I didn't put the olives in because a lot of people don't like them.
